Iowa Shrine Bowl

A quick glance at the rosters on the Shrine Bowl website would suggest no, but I wasn't overly thorough.
 
I'm sure he got invited but turned it down since he has an opportunity for some playing time this season. My buddy plays for Iowa State and played in the Shrine Bowl last year. He told me it was a great experience, but wouldn't do it again if he could go back in time. Said he missed out on a lot of playbook installation from being gone that week.
 
I believe the way the invite system works is they invite certain schools to play in it, then the coach from that school selects a player to play. It isn't a true all-star game. It seems that my school has a player in it every 2-3 years. Smaller schools probably have people in less often than that, and larger schools may send someone every year, I don't know.

That being said, he really has nothing to gain from playing in the game and it would be sickening if he (or anyone else for that matter) were injured.
