Iowa new transfer?

All I said was that it was a risk/reward situation, and all of these guys have some issue that makes or made them a risk. I didn't get into magnitudes of risk and reward in my original post, which is really what you are disagreeing with.

Fair enough. I just saw those names as a much higher risk and reward than Jok will ever be but I get what you meant now

Well, that rating of awesome was when he was like 14, right?
Things can change (either direction) when you're that young.

Yep, the same year Ferentz was considered one of the top 5 coaches in the country...I wonder if that has changed?

I also think it's weird that people think that bc he had a knee injury he won't be any goo again. This is 2013 not 1983, people recover from knee injuries every year. The reason he was delayed for so long is that he played his whole sophomore year with the injury. It was misdiagnosed. Then he wasn't fully healed and tried to come back too soon for his junior year.

Why don't you ask Greg McDermott or Ben Jacobsen why they don't think he will be good again? Or maybe ask Fran why he fell back on Jok after Hogue said no to him?

If he ends up being good then so be it but IMO all signs are pointing the other way. I don't like Iowa but don't wish bad things on any in state kid no matter where they go.

Isn't the fact that he was Mr. Basketball this past year after being extremely average as a junior a sign pointing toward him potenitally being good again?

Considering this was one of the worst classes of basketball the state has put out in a long time I'd say no. Morgan won Gatorade POY for the state so he didn't even win both the awards...

He was starting to get looked at again before his senior season. Wisconsin, KState, Nebraska, Creighton were some of the teams looking at him and if I recall even Lousiville was showing some interest.

link? i find it hard to believe Louisville showed any interest and if any of the other schools thought he was going to be good they would have offered. It's different for a kid to say he's been hearing from certain schools and for them to actually be interested and offer a scholarship.

Besides you defending Peter Jok every time his name comes out and saying how good he is, I'm starting to notice you're true colors shining through. You are generally very negative towards ISU and very positive to your Hawks by your forum posts. That is assuming you're a Hawkeye fan since I can't see anyone else saying Iowa is an attractive place for a RB to go...

Our football team this year:
6 wins would be a small miracle. I can see them wining as little as 3 games this year.
Iowa WR transferring out of the program:
From what I have read the kid only produced in one spring game and it was against the 3rd team d. Not a big loss.
Jeff Jones visiting Iowa City:
Iowa is an attractive place for RBs. I think they have a shot with him
Iowa basketball this year:
It's not just people in the state. They have been picked by several sites to be a preseason top 25 team.
Iowa basketball last year:
Look, I'm not saying they were great but you can't say they didn't finish 6th. IN the best conference in college basketball.

He was also a parade all american. They were waiting to see him play im sure, I know Wisconsin wanted him to visit. ESPN reports that Illinois, Clemson and Creighton had offers out to him as well.

If you watch recent tape of him you can tell he is a skilled player. He is a very good shooter and can handle the ball well and is a very smart player.

I'm not sure what eveidence you need that he can be a very good player. You are not looking at how he has played from his senior year on.
Even at the NBA top 100 camp last summer he had a couple good games and I remember seeing tweets about his shooting ability and I think he was about 80-90% then.

Just because I can look at things without bias does not mean I'm a hawkeye fan. I have nothing against the hawks like some clone fans fo maybe I see them a little differently than the people who hate them.
I just think you are mistaken about some things that's all. If he committed to Wisocnsin instead I doubt you would be so down on him.

Hard to commit to a school that didn't want him but if he chose Wisconsin over Drake and had no other offers than yes I would not be high on him. If he pans out for your Hawkeyes then so be it but just remember Fran really wanted Hogue

Well, why didn't you just say so.

We've been going with the incorrect info that he had only two offers, both from low level Mo Valley teams.

Well we will just have to see. I'm not a hawkeye basketball fan. I just don't have a dislike of someone or something because its hawkeye related.
