Iowa gets verbals from two recruits

The first two recruits of the 2011 class have called the Iowa coaches and given solid verbals. WR Jacorey Shepard (out of TX) and WR Marcus Grant (out of MA) have both committed in the last 24 hours. Good start for the hawks class of 2011. :yes:

Jay Lee, one of the top WR's in the state of Texas, has been visiting with Shepard and they are apparently good friends. It sounds like Lee has the hawks #1 on his list as well. I'm pretty excited by these guys, as they are all three guys that the coaching staff offered early, which is always a better indicator of success/failure than star ratings.

My guess is that Lee will be a 4* recruit, Grant will likely be a borderline 4*/3* type guy and Shepard will likely be a 3* once they are all evaluated.

Iowa is looking to take 3-4 WR's this season....we are already half way there.

I was going to say the same thing. If this were posted in the ISU football section, then I could understand people saying "who cares."

It's not like the thread title was misleading:confused:
 
I opened because I thought it would be Iowa BB recruits.

FYI, it shows up in my new posts list mixed in with other forums so I didn't have to take the time to come into this forum.
 
nope...could care less 'bout them eiu sky rats! just my opinion, which i am entitled to, much like all you sky rats who come over here and jaw it up...now discuss.

no matter where it is located, i would stilll say the same thing.
 
I really don't give two ***** what Iowa does, but I like Grant and the Jay Lee kid has some pretty big time offers.

If Iowa can actually land him, then get back to me.

I do wish the Clones would get a commit already.

Lee to Baylor, didn't see that coming. He claimed Iowa was #1 and the very next day commits to the Bears. Weird.

Replying to this, I don't mind the in-state board, and I love coming here... but when you start a thread saying you got a new recruit, unless ISU was recruiting them, I don't think anyone cares. Just saying. Maybe a basketball recruit I would care about, but when you have 25 football recruits and who knows where they are going to end up by next February. What if I started a thread about a three star QB ISU signs sometime on HN? I would prepare to get slammed.

The proper thing to do is just not bother to even open it and then we wouldn't have a two page thread about something that you guys don't care about:wink:

Yes, you probably would get slammed for it on HN.

It was a pretty easy prediction. After his visited he proclaimed Iowa #1. His buddy committed a couple days ago. All signs were pointing to Iowa. I was wrong, oh well.
