Wishing you guys luck tonight against Notre Dame. Iowa State has been fun to follow from afar this year and I hope you guys kick some Irish tail tonight. I would have been cheering for the Cylones no matter who they played in the NCAA field, but the fact that it's Notre Dame gives me even more reason to root for ISU.

Hoiberg is a great coach and it's good to see the state competative again in basketball. Iowa UNI, and Iowa State all have good coaches leading the charge.

Good first post, and good luck to Iowa tonight. I was hoping for them to finish out the game against Michigan St. so they could have made the dance, but they had a good year for the number of underclassmen they played this year.
 
I really hope Iowa sweeps the NIT. :)
 
Now if all Iowa fans were this nice and complimentary, there would be no ill will between our schools. I would hate it.

I agree. The days of Johnny Orr and Tom Davis provided some great games and I think Fred and Fran can get that magic back. Both coaches understand the history between these two programs and are building good things. Both programs have gone through some rough times with coaches for various reasons and I think they both have the right men for the job now.
 
Iowa plays tonight? I could not care less. My attention will be 100% NCAA tournament. Scheduled when I have something better to do.

I can't complain about the Hawkeyes any more. Times have changed, and I don't really think we compete any more for Iowa native recruits than any other team in America. All of my vitriol is leveled at Kansas and other programs like Kentucky that not only get the recruits, but get the calls from the refs.

Everybody knows that if there is ever a kid from the state of Iowa that is worth a **** in basketball he is going to end up with that used car salesman Roy Williams. He has been stealing all of the talent from this state forever.

LaFrentz - Kansas - NBA
Collison - Kansas - NBA
Hinrich - Kansas - NBA
Barnes - UNC - NBA
Paige - UNC - ???
 
It's hard to hate Iowa anymore after we've become better in football and basketball, not to mention things happening with Nebraska and Kansas for me to hate them more.

Won't be mad or care if Iowa wins tonight, but I'll laugh a little if they lose.

I think we have to keep the pressure in football. Recruiting in Iowa is still important to us in football. Still, it isn't anything personal, just important to dominate the series.
 
OP, great post. Good luck to you guys tonight as well. I'm hoping you guys make it to MSG. My NIT title game pick is Baylor v. Iowa. I honestly think they are two of the only teams really wanting to kick *** in that tourney.
 
I still hate Iowa. One nice fan doesn't erase the 20 messages this morning from Hawkeye friends saying ND beats us by 20. We've had a few years ahead of them, but they'll be back and all of your hate will come back when they get good again.
