Iowa ending DST?

When someone asks you what time it is, do you look at the sun or your watch?

Well, given the post and context, presumably the person I was responding too was worried about cold mornings. So in that case, the sun.

Sure you can argue about where to put the line in Indiana, Arizona, or western Nebraska... but unless this is done regionally along relatively continuous north/south line, then even having the discussion is pointless.

This kind of dumb legislation is exactly why I can't wait for that wall to be built between Iowa and Minnesota. Also, can you people in Iowa please do a better job of educating my parents about how to use their phones?

He had one person say do it........so he runs with it and says if anyone has a solid reason why not to he will listen. Solid? Maybe I missed it, but what was the "solid" reason to run with it?

Definitely not for it on a state by state basis.

However, just like when DST was adjusted by congress a few years ago, changing it leads to problems.

I thought it went relatively smooth. I can't see a good reason to make standard time permanent.

Switching things willy nilly back and forth is nothing but extra problems. I would not mind it if the whole country made something permanent, but a small state like Iowa becoming an outlier is just asking for problems.

The best part of the article was the fact that he started out saying he hadn't come up with any negatives associated with scrapping Day Light Savings time and then proceeds to come up with a bunch of negative things about scrapping Daylight Savings Time.

Its like he forgot he was supposed to be supporting this bill....

Keep DST and get rid of the legislature. With all the serious problems in this state with finances, they come up with this ####? Welcome to the 50's and an enlightened group of idiots. We need IQ tests for office holders and voters.
