Iowa Basketball

What he actually said is factually correct. You even agreed with him, probably didn't realize it, in your last paragraph.

He will be fine, but for this year, he is not physical enough to play the 4 in that conference.

And as far as driving by people, etc. It will be much harder for him to do when he is pushed out 5-10 feet further from the basket because he is not yet strong enough to establish position.

This is the correct take. However, the ISU poster he was responding to was making it out as if White will NEVER be a legitimate Big Ten 4. He's thin for now, but he'll fill out as his career progresses. But yes, he's going to be up and down this year as he adjusts and gets out-muscled at times.

Fran McCaffery would disagree with you. So you think you got a better eye for talent than coach McCaffery??

You've never said how many times you've seen White play... I'm still suspecting that is 0 times.

What basketball coach in history has ever said anything bad about an incoming freshmen?

I will stick with that White will never be a successful 4 in the Big 10. He won't drive around Big 10 4 men. It won't happen. Those guys are more athletic than him AND bigger. He will have to be a standing 3 point specialist at the 4 to be successful

What are you talking about? That roster is still way undertalented for the level they play.

It is very likely that they have more good players than they did a year ago. But in terms of actual talent match ups with the teams in their league, they are still way behind.

Plus, you should probably know what the term "raw talent" actually means before you try to use it in a sentence.
Raw in my mind means "Scrappy, hard worker, overachiever." Iowa has a few players that are "Raw". May, Gatens and Basabe are all "Raw". Iowa has a great coach and they will compete this year. As a Cyclone fan i'm scared ******** to play them right now. Their players would out play us right now and i'm 100% sure Fran would out coach Fred right now.

Thanks for your opinion,Coach K.

Raw talent, in its most common usage: in reference to a player where the athleticism is there, but the player isn't polished. Take a WR, who is 6'4, runs a 4.4, has a 35+ inch vert, and soft hands. That guy has raw talent. What makes a guy with measurables like that a great player are the things like route-running, using his body/size advantage to shield defenders from the ball, high-pointing, etc.

Raw talent doesn't mean scrappy (in its most common usage). Scrappy is a term generally reserved for the guys who DON'T have the raw talent, but bust their a** to get the most out of what they do have (David Eckstein, Ryan Theriot, Jake Kelly, etc.).

I looked up scrappy in the dictionary. It said Ryan Bowen.

This is very weak. Do you really think that Fran went out wasted his precious recruiting time on somebody he really thought that couldn't hack it in the Big Ten?

It's his job and reputation on the line.

By the way, Fran recruited White as a '3', but since has said that White could play the 3, 4 or 5... I suppose you don't buy that either. Not that it really matters.

Well, now that you mention it, I don't buy it at all.

Going to be a big time bummer if we lose to Iowa at home this season, I haven't given up hope on this team yet though.

Of course you think that, but psychosis is known to run rampant amongst cyclone fans... especially on this message board... and you being the prime example.
If you want a good example,go over to the main board and see the post about how they should be considered a pre season favorite for conference championship next year-wow!:twitcy:

Pretty sure that's a troll trying to make us look bad. With a username like ISUbaseball I doubt they're for real.
