Iowa -7 vs ISU

Lets talk to the national sports press -

Hoks - Fake ID of college football

ISU - the promising , upcoming program of the mid-west with one of the hottest young coaches in the game.

Discuss away

Link to any of this because the recent press I saw for ISU had them picked 7th in the Big 12.

Couple of thoughts since I've last logged on.

1) for all that is holy, please IP ban derpycy, if there is such a thing

2) @CyTwins I can't say one way or another that Eno would be the best back on the roster. He's not on it, and I'm pretty optimistic IKM and Young will be productive.

3) Doyle is one of the best in the business and highly regarded. Whether or not he deserves to be the highest paid S&C coach in the land is questionable, but he's produced results.

4) Brady Reiff: kid was of age, and trying to be responsible. We all got a laugh out of it and he got suspended for a game. No harm no foul.

5) please IP ban derpycy

6) Nibb High football rules

Not sure I agree with Doyle being one of the best in the business. Maybe in the 2000's but he has one top 25 finish this decade and his team's look slow and out of shape during bowl games

The majority of his work takes place during the off-season, and he has very little influence on game day, so I'm not sure why you're trying to pin your top 25 stat on him.

He was one of the very first guys to implement GPS technology to gather data and optimize his players' performance (https://www.hawkcentral.com/story/s...ball-gps-technology-chad-leistikow/451254002/)

I can provide example after example of former players praising him for getting them to where they are.

They may have gotten it handed to them a few times in a bowl game, but I would bet it was due to scheme and execution rather than being out of shape.

Ndsu physically dominated them what's the excuse for that?

Agree. That was a thing of beauty to watch. NDSU comes into Kinnick and does nothing fancy but beat Iowa at their own game.... just physically abusing them up and down the field running power football play after play which Iowa couldn't stop.

And yes, I know NDSU did the same thing to ISU as well one year. It was still fun to watch them do it against Iowa.

Honestly, Iowa's lack of top 25 finishes isn't on Doyle...Iowa develops linemen and develops them well. The issue has been the stagnant offense and lack of imagination with play calling. That and a serious shortage of skill players, especially receivers and running backs (injuries there). I'd take Doyle anytime, although probably not at $725K a year.

May want to check the rankings from January of 2010. We don’t want you to wrong as usual.
