Iowa -7 vs ISU

That's a better comparison than anything NFL related
So its more like a guy that bounces between AAA and the big leagues then.
If it were anything NFL related, it would be like a 5th receiver that got drafted in the late rounds or UFA, and they give him a minimal risk contract but sign him all the same because they believe they could grow into something special. But NFL is a tough comparison because the sheer number of players at position groups and on the team as a whole.

Probably going off potential. :)

I guess so. These watch lists just seem dumb. Seems like they should put the best returning RBs and then part way through the season revise the list to add the RBs that are producing. Same with the other lists.

Baseball is a good example, or if you are a fan of international soccer it would be like guy playing for the second squad in games but moves up to full-side at times.

Nope, they increased the squad size from 15 to 17. The two extra are 2 way contracts, can be rostered with the team for 45 days during game play. No player movement, no IR designations. Player tweaks an ankle and will be out for 2 games, you pull that guy up and have him there. They aren't there all the time, becasue they want them playing games and getting reps so they spend majority of the time in the G.

Edit: Best comparison is when the rosters increase the last chunk of the season in MLB (or is that just the playoffs?)

In September the MLB rosters expand from 25 to 40 and then back to 25 for the playoffs.

So, nobody has really answered my question.

Why do Clone fans think its a huge deal to have a handful of guys on 2 way contracts?

For a self proclaimed basketball school, that isnt showing much.

If you don't realize how hard it is to get an NBA contract, you don't know much about the NBA. Probably 1/3 of the league are foreign born players. Another probably 1/3-1/4 are from about 5 or 6 schools. ISU has 2 guys with NBA contracts and 3 guys with 2 way contracts. That is pretty good for a school like Iowa State that isn't a blue blood and that isn't in a talent rich state.

Still waiting on proof of your countdown clock being a valid photo in the ISU building.

You're right, I mean it's basketball like getting an NFL camp tryout right
