Interesting post on the CU board

MP must not be taking the CU loss well. Sounds like he is starting to lose it. I guess I knew he didnt like ISU and its BB staff, but this is beyond pathetic. He is suppose to be a pro, but he is acting far from it.

I think the most important thing here is:

Who the **** is Matt Perrault, and why the hell should I care what he thinks about ISU?

The thing is he has the best spot on Des Moines biggest sports station. People listen and it does ISU no good to have him run ISU down all the time.

The phrase "No talent *** clown" comes to mind when I think of MP.

Boston to Omaha, Omaha to Des Moines, what's the next step down, Des Moines to Kalamazoo?

Bo Pelini called, said Matt Perrault needs to get over it and relax.

It's hard to imagine why Matt's radio career hasn't taken off yet. :jimlad:

Thanks for the post I was looking for the Crighton rivals site but I couldn't find it in the high school section

Matt Perault will be fired within a year. He has to much of a hot headed attitude and he is not good enough to have that attitude. At least Marty was good radio even if you did not like what he said. Perault just plain is not that good and he has a huge ego to go with it. He called out either Paul Clark or Chris Williams as the lasiest guy at KXNO. You can't talk about co workers like that. Even if they are part time or have small roles in the company. You just can't.
I would expect him to at least get suspended for writing something like this.
Hey Perault. Call Marty and ask him if it's o.k. to say and act stupid and get away with it.

Can't be Chris. That dude is everywhere.

Apathy is stronger than displeasure, if you're looking for him to get fired...

I don't listen to the show. I used to but after the JP email deal and them refusing to take a call in which someone questioned their integrity in terms of how they misrepresented the email, I quit. Apathy will be involved in the email though. I'm not looking to get him fired, but an explanation as to why they see him as an asset right now would be nice.

Perrault has publicly ripped Paul Clark on multiple occasions. He always does it on Twitter but when he spent 10 minutes of his show talking major s**t about Paul, he crossed the line. He's probably just mad that Paul actually gets to cover a school that has a football team in a major conference

Lets remember he is writing for a fanbase that "doesn't lose games", they either get jobbed or give away any wins to the opposing team. that said, I have no idea why he would call out a colleague or even fans that pay to have the right to go read anything on the Rivals network. Seems like bad business and bad business usually catches up to you...

Here would be the link to his blog where he talks about being fired in Omaha.

After he gets fired again I'm not even sure Kalamazoo will pick him up. The main problem with Perrault is that he has a huge ego but backs his opinions up with false facts. And he is usually very adamant that these false facts are actually true. After awhile you just realize that he is an idiot and stop listening.

The one place he is probably felt like he made a difference in his career was in Omaha covering Creighton. No one really pays any attention to them in the media so they are thankful for any pub even from an idiot like Perrault. Even after that failed he is still holding out that he can somehow work his way back into covering Creighton fulltime instead of just working part time on their websites.

Does Matt P. understand that Creighton needed everything to go perfectly their way... and get all the breaks in the last minute or so of that game just to be tied with ISU with 1.6 secs left?

Creighton, not known this year at all for their 3 pt shooting, shoots out of their minds all day long, and still is in the fight of their life. Most teams that shoot like that from 3 pt range win by 15+ pts going away.

And then down the stretch, our best FT shooter on the team misses 3 straight FTs. He may never miss 3 FTs in a row again in his career.

And then, Creighton gets the perfect intentional missed FT bounce to one of their players... which is much less than a 50-50 proposition since ISU has inside position.

And then... Melvin Ejim gets called for a phantom foul that never happened... and which the replay also shows was not even close to a foul.

And then... the Creighton player makes both pressure FTs.

ISU then has ONE thing go their way when JVB's shot at the end doesn't get out of his hands by a split second, but the officials call it good.

But Matt P. would lead you to believe that ISU caught the breaks. Whatever. What planet does he live on? Everything had to go just right for Creighton just to get to be tied. The probability of everything I described above happening had to be about a thousand to one. And that was just to be able to tie the game up.

As for him ripping on Paul Clark.... again.... I would think that Rivals might have something to say to him? He is VERY immature and unprofessional. There is a reason he can't keep a job anywhere.

That's really mean to wish that hell on the fine folks in Kalamazoo! No, there's only one fan base, one city, I could ever wish that blather of crap that comes out of his mouth....I'm talking about Iowa City of course.

We got the ball back after the intentional foul. But SC subsequently missed the next two foul shots. So we didn't really gain anything from the intentional foul call anyway.

But who cares. The game could have gone either way, obviously. Fortunately, it went our way. Which is all that really matters.

What is in your drink, sweetwater? Karma was on the side of the Cyclones!

You have to give Matt credit for one thing. He figured out very early the best way to play this market...massage the massive Hawkeye ego and pick at the open wound that is the Cyclone inferiority complex. Both fanbases listen for different reasons, but they both listen. Ratings is all that matter. It doesn't matter if Matt is wrong virtually all of the time (he is, at least about Iowa State). It doesn't matter that he butchers the English language (he does). And it doesn't matter that his manner of speaking is at best "accelerated" and at worst is Woody Woodpecker on crank (it is). Only turning the dial will change things.

I don't follow him on twitter, but I did check out his tweets yesterday- he called Cyclone fans ******...
Sportstalkmatt just don't be ****** about it ... which many ISU fans are being. It was a bad call. Bad ending. Unfortunate.
