"Rhoads coordinated defenses for both Walt Harris and Dave Wannstedt at Pitt. He was approached by Auburn’s Tommy Tuberville to move to Auburn in 2002 after two spectacular seasons at Pitt but turned down the offer. Tuberville again offered Rhoads his top defensive coaching position prior to last fall and he accepted."

I love it!

I posted about this in the other thread. Rhoads apparently has the kind of integrity that we thought we were getting with Chizik.

The fact that Rhoads was Tubberville's first choice over Chizik is interesting, but what's even more interesting to me is that Rhoads decided he should stay loyal to his current team while Chizik dumped Tubberville a few years later to make a lateral move to Texas.

My favorite is the make a note to show how many DB's have been drafted by the NFL. And it said in the DM Register that Leonard Johnson had already talked to him. Wonder what is focus is? As it should be, LJ has skills

I love it.

Loney for OC
McCarney for DC

3 true cyclones at the top!

That would be absolutely glorious, but I would bet the chances of that are about 1%. I have a hard time thinking McCarney would come back and isn't Loney a O-line coach (or something like that) in the NFL right now?

I'd love to see Loney back here as OC, not so sure about Mac as DC, d-line coach if he'd take it which I doubt. I'd think Paul would have a few guys from Tubberville's staff.

He turned it down the first time because he had a handshake deal with Pitt's AD to be head coach when Harris left. (I think that was Pederson?). So Auburn hired sleazik. Then the Pitt AD left and they hired Wannstadt when Harris left and when Rhoads got the second offer at Allburn he had no reason to turn it down.
