Injury update?

Rewatching the game, of what little Schweiger played, he did well. A small sample size, and mostly dive running plays, but it was encouraging.

If he starts, I'm interesting to see if his pass pro is up to snuff and if scheme simplifies to suit him. I'm guessing the scheme will simplify anyway, because we were trying a lot stuff against UNI, probably just see what the line could do.

Kene looked like he hurt his shoulder, but it might be his hamstring again.

Any updates on Braxton Lewis? Was he hurt? Defense was great yesterday, but the Rice transfer Bickham didn't play well at all. Maybe first game jitters, but I'd prefer Lewis back there.
You are correct, Bickham did not have a good day. Seemed like he wasn't sure where to be most of the time. Thought UNI was even picking on him at times. Has to get better if the Cyclones are going to get better.

Bickham gave a lot of cushion and his open-field tackling was not up to speed. UNI went his way often on key plays. That level of play won't work well in B12 play.

Vance was back out there pretty quick. Looked like leg cramps. Lewis is listed on the participation chart but I didn't see him on the field. Maybe since he was banged up he was only in on special teams? I hope he is back to 100% for Iowa. He has looked great the last couple years and Bickham missed a few tackles yesterday.

Soehner got hurt as well. I want to say he went back in later on, but I can't be sure. Anyone know?

Heard Scates name frequently during camp. Did he play, or is he dinged now?

They gave up 228 yards passing in 3OT with 25/42. Thats 5.4 per attempt. What else are you expecting them to do?

It’s a weird game because there’s not a lot that was glaringly bad (I even thought the Oline wasn’t as bad as people are saying) yet people feel like there has to be SOMETHING that was awful to excuse why UNI took us to three overtime’s. I think it was just a weird game through and through and we need to just move on.

The little things I’d point to are the details and the flow of the play calling. The play calling was just disjointed and didn’t seem to have a strategy. The details were a problem because you had a lot of drive killing mistakes such as penalties and drops.
