I have to disagree. Coming into our server and getting your panties in a bunch because were taking pot shots at the almighty U of I is laughable at best. I don't go into your servers and complain that Iowa gives ISU crap at every possible opportunity. If you want to be here, grow some skin.... It's not like we haven't earned the ability to give Iowa crap after years and year and years and years of their BS.
Drew Cook verballed to Iowa. Surprised that they offered so soon. I imagine he is a TE recruit and not QB.
BiL texted me that. Guess he is Marv Cooks son. Not real impressed with him personally. Iowa is his only offer. Also saw rumor that Paulsen twins may commit to Iowa this weekend. Coming from BiL as well. Long ways to signing day for those guys though.
I've never seen Cook play, but he stops by a tailgate that I frequent, nice kid with a good pedigree.
Are you hearing the Paulsen's are still considering ISU? I didn't think ISU offered yet, plus who is recruiting them now that Bleil is gone? Or are you saying some other schools are gonna come calling soon?
Recruitniks are pretty certain that the Paulsen twins will be giving Kirk their commitment at Iowa's Jr day this weekend.
According to the register Cook says he prefers qb, though that may not be what Kirk has in mind. But that's two qb's in this class committed to Iowa and maybe that helps us with Boyle if we offer. Apparently he will be at our camp this summer and maybe the offer comes then.
I thought one of Iowa's QB commits opened things up. Not even sure if it's the same class as Boyle and Cook.
Iowa at one point would wait to offer some of the more marginal in-state recruits but they seem to want to lock them up earlier.
I think you'd be talking about the 4 star Illinois qb in their 2015 class, and if he re-opened his recruitment I wasn't aware of it.
Doesnt really seem "committed" from what I have read. The verbal committment means nothing, excluding Lazard. He will end up at Texas.
No way. Texas can get much better QBs. He is only four star on Scout. Rivals he is a 5.5 3 star.
He has dropped a lot after his season.
So, what is our deal with in-state kids? All of these talented linemen and a handful of skilled players and we aren't going to try for any of them?
Do you think we are planning a huge junior day invite session? I hear there are 2 junior days - a March 8th session for elite recruits that we are interested in and a March 29th session for the masses. Are there any Iowa kids attending the March 8th junior day? Do you think we will actually offer a few kids at the March 8th session?
Not exactly surprising, but the Paulsen boys committed to EIU.

Lot of good lineman in state this year. 247 have the Paulsens twins #1 & #2, Drew Cook #3 and Newborg #4 and no Meeker. Rivals has Meeker #1 then the Paulsen twins and then Newborg.
Anyway you cut it, there are 4 legit D1 linemen coming out of Iowa this year, plus any that might be flying under the radar right now.
