In state recruiting for 2015 class

After more "digging", I found not one mention of Beneventi on the Irish Rivals boards, including the premium board I am a member of. Not that I care, but found it fascinating that anyone on this board cares. He appears to be a guy that fits Iowa's system better than ND's, but guys don't just roll out of bed and become 4-star QB's.

As for Boyle, looks like Iowa fans are all in. I think the prevailing thought is the kid is a winner and would welcome the opportunity to compete. Good teams have good QB's. I know his family pretty well-I think concern for both Iowa and Iowa State should be that he has sights set higher.

Thanks for the info. I have been hearing about Boyle since he was a FR from a friend who coaches in the metro. Says the kid is legit. Another one he says to keep your eyes on are, is the QB from Norwalk. Was a FR starter this year, says he has a cannon, and will be a good one as well.

It's nice to have Beneventi in the fold because he's highly ranked and is helping recruit kids in that class. However, athletically Im not so sure i wouldn't take Boyle right now.

Not a member of IrishEnvy.com, just enjoy reading Irish banter. Usually pretty insightful. See link: '15 IL QB Jack Beneventi (Iowa Verbal) - Page 17 - Irish Envy | Notre Dame Football Discussion

Iowa takes qbs and reworks them to other positions. This is the Iowa Way.

I thought the Iowa Way was to pump them full of steroids and have them gain 50 lbs in 2 years. Or maybe that's not the way any more since the university was forced to slap its own hand over Rhabdo?

You appear to be a Boyle fan. I see what the you and the Hawkeyes like from his 15 min highlights.

2013 Junior Highlights

We need to offer this kid. After more digging, I found info on IrishEnvy.com about Beneventi (the "4Star" that the Hawkeyes offered first). Notre Dame fans were praying for him not to commit or for the ND coaches to pull the offer. Is anyone talking about this on the Hawk boards?

2013 Junior Stats:

Jack Beneventi (4Star)
6'6" 190
6-4 record
122/218 56%
1303 yards
7 TD
9 Int
Rushed for -72 yards

Ryan Boyle (No Star)
6'2" 215
14-0
119-187 64%
1833 yards
21 TD
3 Int
Rushed 1332 yards and 24 TD

Lets offer Boyle!

Thanks for posting that, I hadn't seen the highlight reel, just watched him in the two games at the unidome. Probably one of the longest highlight reels I've seen, but then Boyle is pretty much a highlight machine. Would love to see him in a Clone uniform but we have to offer him first. And I really doubt Iowa or anybody else will consider putting him anywhere but qb, he's just too good.

Boyle can come in at QB but knows IA. sees him as a Safety.

How good is the Allen kid?

I was wondering about Allen as well. His dad was a stud LB at UNI, can't remember if he got a cup of coffee in the NFL or not.

He'd be faster than the flat footed safeties they trot out there now.

HAHAHA.......if Iowa had flat footed safeties, then ISU just had bad ones.

Iowa #9 in the nation in passing defense: 175 YPG allowed
ISU #79 in the nation in passing defense: 239 YPG allowed
ISU did face 416 passing attempts last year, compared to Iowa facing 395. So ISU faced a whopping 1.75 more passing attempts than Iowa did, yet allowed 64 yards per game more in passing yards

Iowa was 4th in the country in passing plays allowed of 20 yards or more (25 of them).
ISU was #54 allowing 39 plays of 20 + yards on passing plays.

I don't even know Hawk fans that liked Tanner Miller

Okay,,, so name (for me) all of these top passing QBs playing Big Ten football....... (Then I will tell you whether I am impressed with Iowa's pass defense.)

Has very little to with safeties actual abilities. DL, LB and CB were all better at iowa. Also the styles of play in the different conferences, iowas soft OOC helps pad stats too.

A question for the mods;

What does this have to do with Iowa State football in-state recruiting for the 2015 class? There is a forum on this board for hawk trolls and this isn't it.

I don't think it's too much to ask that when I'm curious about our 2015 in-state recruiting I can come here without wading through hawk bull**** or have to ignore someone.

Every defesive grouping the Hawks were better, DL, LB, and secondary. I'm not saying Iowas safeties were world beaters, but come on....taking shots at Iowas defesive backfield when ISU's was what it was is hilarious.

Bonus points, nobody blamed Messingham.......well as of now anyway.

So someone talked a shot at Iowas safeties, and I respond, but I'm to blame. How about the poster who went off topic in the first place?

How about posters just take shots at Iowa and talk about Iowa in the in state rivals threads instead of every thread?

What the **** is this? Who came here to read this?
