In state recruiting for 2015 class

I know first-hand that Paulsen boys would be very interested in ISU if offered, but as of now we haven't, and Iowa has. Their dad is ISU grad.

True story and they are also great kids, and great wrestlers too which CPR usually likes in his players

Any Iowa JC Players??? Boffeli played at VHS and is a soph at Iowa Western. His brother started for Iowa this year and Clint was fun to watch at Valley HS.

That class is terrible. High schools in Texas have more D1 prospects than the entire state of Iowa.

Isnt the state of Texas a lot more populated and have more high schools than the state of Iowa??????:twitcy:

Pretty sure he meant any given high school in TX has more talent than all schools in Iowa combined.

They are all yours, according to some this could be the weakest class in a long time in Iowa. Most of the guys will only have Iowa and Iowa state offers.

Well, all of these are gonna be Hawkeyes if we don't offer. I beg to differ, the guys mentioned here are very talented and what we need. The linemen have great frames to build on and are athletic kids. Max Morris (mom is white and dad is African American) is a high motor kid that plays DE now. At 6'2, 230 he probably puts on weight and moves down to a DT). If you haven't seen Boyle play, probably best described as a Jordan Lynch type talent...would be a nice fit. I hope the late placement of the offensive coaching staff hasn't -already- put us behind with the 2015 class. Junior Day is March 8th...will be interesting to see what we do with these talented IA kids.

The kid is a beast. In his video, also watch #75, John Swisher, Defensive Player of the Year. He's committed to IWCC. Believe he'll dominate there. If he puts on weight, we may see him again soon.

Kind of hard to believe that Meeker is #1. He'll probably go to Iowa, but as an ISU fan, that really wouldn't bother me.

He's a great kid, but I'm not sure he has the mean streak needed to dominate at the next level.

I think its pretty telling that Meeker doesn't have an offer from ISU or Iowa yet.

Yet the top 3 in IA are rated higher than 20 of the 25 recruits we just signed, and only 2 of the 25 we signed were actually rated higher than Meeker/Paulsens. If that's terrible, what do you think of the class we just signed?

Actually, the relevant point is more likely just how irrelevant rankings are.

I think Iowa high school football is better than a lot of people want to give it credit for. It's hard to argue UNI hasn't been competitive with us lately and they do it with a lot of Iowa kids, many we have passed on.

KF stated that the 2015 Iowa class is above average and that they expect to offer 6-8 kids.

Seems like Ryan Boyle got an Iowa offer tonight. Not sure if they are offering him at QB, or as an ATH.

Lack of skill players in Iowa is what kills us. I couldn't care less about minor differences between guys in the trenches unless they are ranked real high (Campos).

We have not offered any of the top 5 in Iowa (Boyle, Paulsens, Newburg, Meeker). Top 5 based on those with Rivals' rankings. Iowa has offered 4 of the 5 (all but Meeker), has a commitment from 1 and seems to be the leader for the Paulsens. Where are we? Would seem to be easier to pull from the home state, but maybe we are confident of landing bigger fish elsewhere. I think programs like ours have to be early with offers.

That's interesting...didn't see that happening as I thought they were set at QB

They must see something they like, or they are telling him they like him at another position. Haven't heard which it is is, but I'm sure it will come out. My guess (and it is only a guess at this point) is they view him like a AJ Derby. They see him at a different position, but they may give him a shot a QB first if he wants it.

I heard an interview with Eric Johnson, and he was talking about all the in state talent this year. Iowa is high on it, especially at OL. One thing the Iowa coaches know is OL talent. The Paulsens and Newborg were top targets of this staff..
