In memoriam of Brian Ferentz as Iowa's OC

Anyone figure out what Kirk means by “wins per game” when he was looking at coordinators? Does punting count as wins per game? If so, they should get a lot wins.

I don't know, but assumed it was some kind of efficiency "metric" that Kirk just made up. Something like Success Rate or Expected Points Added, but dumber/not quantifiable.

We knew the only way there would be any real change with the offense Kirk would have to give full control over. It's why Chryst probably declined the job and it would be interesting to know just how many other guys said no thanks to Kirk because of that too.

Frustrating but not surprising that KF is unwilling to make any real changes to the offense. Lester has to be a better play caller and make better adjustments than Brian. He couldn't possibly be worse, could he?

Let’s see how that works when they play AT Ohio State, AT UCLA, AT Washington. Of course in 2023, they didn’t score against ranked opponents.
Does Washington even have any talent coming back? And UCLA hasn't been good lately it seems.

Weren’t we always told Brian could have a myriad of NFL jobs whenever he wanted one?

I've never been a big fan of BF. He wasn't qualified to be a P5 OC, and he sucked at it. He simply didn't earn his way. I hope he can land something as a position coach somewhere and from there earn his way up the ladder, which he never had to do. And it showed.
