IHSAA State Wrestling 2024

KMA Radio is also covering the championships at 960 AM, which on a PC you can stream (audio) at their website by clicking on 960 AM at the very top.

I don't know how they are doing it. They report other match results also to the extent possible I believe. With some SWI 1A wrestlers in the middle weights, they are probably focused on them now:

Won by Allen: 138: Blake Allen (Underwood) (20-0) vs. Teague Smith (West Hancock) (51-2)

Won by Reisz: 144: Corbin Reisz (Logan-Magnolia) (46-0) vs. Boden White (Denver) (45-2)

150: Keaton Moeller (Starmont) (45-1) vs. Danny Kinsella (Treynor) (39-4)

157: Kyler Knaack (Don Bosco) (27-0) vs. Kellen Smith (West Hancock) (47-2)

165: John McGill (Colfax-Mingo) (43-1) vs. Maddox Nelson (Underwood) (31-3)
At 175, they are covering 3A:
Asa Hemsted (Carlisle) (41-3) vs. Damarion Ross (Fort Dodge) (41-4)

At 190, I don't know.

215 is the last match in their coverage area, so they'll definitely cover 1A:
Brady Davis (Maquoketa Valley) (41-3) vs. Ashton Honnold (Nodaway Valley-Greenfield) (48-2)

This hairdo seems to be a thing. :)

Is there any way we could land Ross? Is he even old enough for us to be recruiting? I just really really want to see him in Ames. Reminds me of Ed Ruth.

Maybe I don't understand wrestling enough, but it seems like South Tama's Bridgewater got hosed in 2A at 215.

Keep an eye on Ashton Honnold at 215 lbs. State champ as a sophomore. Pinned his opponent in the championship match
One of the matches I listened to. Seemed to have pretty good control and was aggressive. Took his opponent down and to his back, in the 1 minute OT, with time yet that he pinned him.
