#4 Virginia lost twice this week
#7 Arizona lost twice this week
#8 Providene lost at home
#9 Kentucky lost on the road

For me, it's not really that we lost, but the way we lost. We slowly build up a lead, then blow it in the span of 2 minutes. It's been this way all year. We just can't close a team out. It's either dumb turnovers, dumb shots, or just plain sloppy play, but once we get an 8 or 10 point lead, our game isn't the same that got us to that point.

I don't know know if it makes me feel any better. But it does show that we aren't the only team that apparently doesn't learn from their losses (at least according to the people on here).

So you would have been more OK with it if ISU was losing the whole game?

Makes it worse, we could of moved up nicely in the polls.
This is why we can't have anything nice in the house!

Fµc|< polls!

No seriously, there is probably some delusions of grandeur from the fanbase about how good this team actually is. Can we beat anybody? Yes. But we can also lose to a lot of teams too due to our style of play relying on fast pace, but really only having ~6 players that can play it. And, we don't have any true post defenders and our ball screen defense is not sharp. Offensively, Cooke and Burton deserve more minutes but in regards to team defense you can see they are not there yet.

Do I have hope? Absolutely, and if anything this teams needs a loss after watching the "unable to close the final 5 minutes" loss to OU and the "let's keep things close to toy with them" win against Texas Tech. About this team I am relaxed and not too worried.

Don't see the forest for the trees.

p.s. It says a lot when you feel like a loss is needed to refocus a group FWIW

Fred and the last year of recruiting has had a major impact on this team.

I agree. Fred put us in a bad spot recruiting-wise last year. With one injury (Naz), we see how close to the edge we really are. A second injury, heaven forbid, or foul trouble will not be good. The guys are worn down by the end of the game as it is.

This loss goes on Prohm IMO. We had no answer for the changes Drew made. Hats off to Drew. That's two well coached games in a row at Hilton, even if this time there were no students in the stands, which btw I'm disappointed in. Couldn't come home a day early to watch your fellow students play in an important game? Grrrrrrrr.....
