that ISU is picked dead last in the preseason next season :twitcy: Even with the talent we have back and how this team continues to improve, they will surely throw us last in the Big 12 (10). We may have one of the tougher schedules if not the toughest schedule in the country next season with Iowa and UConn in the preseason.

PS any way we can get out of that UConn game?

Wouldn't shock me, look at what we lose, starting QB and starting RB, thats a ton of offense to replace. Thus, if I was not an expert on the team, it would be awful easy to mark ISU down for a poor year.

I don't care where they pick us for next year. If there is one thing that we all know it is that preseason polls don't mean **** because the people making the preseason polls don't know ****. Preseason rankings are based on this stuff in order of importance...

1. The historical success of the program.
2. The talent level returning.
3. The perceived strength of their incoming recruiting class.
4. Their best season in the previous 5 years.
5. Their results from the previous season.

What was Texas ranked in the preseason this year and why? Are they historically very good? Yes. Was their talent level returning pretty damn good? Yes. Was their incoming recruiting class perceived to be very strong? Yes. Has Texas been successful the past 5 seasons? Yes. Did Texas have a great season the previous year? Yes.

What does that all mean? NOT A GOD DAMN THING!!!! Based on preseason polls and hype Texas should be playing for a National title come January but instead they will be sitting at home most likely.

Pre-season picks will look a lot like this ---

1. Oklahoma
2. Texas
3. Texas A&M
4. Oklahoma State
5. Missouri
6. Texas Tech
7. Kansas State
8. Baylor
9. Iowa State
10. Kansas

That is why they are so worthless. I am Bob Nobody and can knock this out in 30 seconds the previous November and it is very close to what you'll see in the magazines next summer.

Honestly, I have a really, really tough time even seeing 3 wins with next years schedule. The defense might be special next year, but it might not matter with the schedule.

it will look pretty similar to that. I think texas has be moved down a few spots. afterall they do have 6 losses this year

No Colorado?

a little concerned about offense next year... but our defense is gonna be pretty damn good im thinkin. we'll be picked towards the bottom as always, but suprise people yet again

Going into next season without an experienced QB (who was not a 5-star recruit out of high school), a couple of young RB's and a young TE, being picked near the bottom shouldn't be a surprise.

However, I bet we have at least one pre-season 1st team defense player and possibly 1 or 2 2nd team defense players.
