How is it possible for the team to be THIS bad? I'm serious, how did this happen?

How humiliating to be blown out by a pretty crappy football team. Up until now I didn't think there was any way Mac would be fired but after this performance I can really see it happening. Will we win another game this year? Will we be even worse next year?

Egg,

JP made the point that ISU needs wins to 'sell hope'. How does anyone sell hope with this staff coming back next year? ISU loses 4/5 of its offensive line which is arguably awful to begin with. How does ISU manufacture season ticket sales on the heels of this disaster?

I think a change has to be made if for no other reason than to give people something to hope for.

Yep. Nothing more to add.

The only thing I have to say right now is that I will always be a cyclone fan and will support them no matter what. Today though after the Kansas State game for the first time, I felt embarresed for our school. I can only look at it from this point. We can only go up cause we sure as hell have hit the bottom with a thud!

Very difficult to understand why we are SO much worse this season. My only guess would be the schedule. Going from A&M, OSU & Baylor to TX, OK & Tech is brutal and this team has been through the grinder so far. BUT, the team knew the schedule was coming. The other tough pill to swallow is the way the team performed in the non-conference schedule. We are thisclose to being 0-9.

Like someone else stated, don't know what else can be said at this point.:oo7dt:

I think it really gets depressing when you look at the recruiting classes coming up and the lack of any help with what we need.

Jeremy,

What are your sources telling you? Is a change in the works? I guess I don't see any downside to making the change now and plenty of upside (eg Men's BB). We've got to somehow give people a glimmer of hope to maintain some momentum in FB. I don't see how that can happen under another year with the current regime.

Well i just find it sad that when listening to the game, i can just predict what is going to happen. Every pass play was as follows:

"Meyer in the shotgun. He drops back, rolls to his right, passes the ball, and incomplete."

There is never anytime for him to do a thing. When you dont have a Oline, you dont have an offense!

Nothing will happen till after the season...Pollard's already said that.

Besides if it's gonna happen I want it to be after the fball season is over and we can look at all candidates who are out there.

I think it is a combination of a brutal schedule, causing a loss of confidence within the team. They didn't look all that good pre-Big 12 either, but momentum works within a season, just like it does within a game. Once things go down hill, it's hard to stop. I think if they win the Iowa game, they go into the Nebraska game with that much more confidence, and it snowballs in the opposite direction. Not completely, because obviously there are flaws, but better than it has been.

A new coach only has to boost season ticket sales by 750-800 tickeat to pay for Macs buyout.

We are a Bad Team

This team is just much worse than last year. The games against UNLV, Toledo & UNI should have been clear indicators. We can complain about schedule difficulty- but this team hasn't played 1 solid game.

Today's game shows how much our play has fallen. Last year we beat KSU by 30 & this year we lose to the same Wildcats by 3 TD's & they have a first year coach.

It's tough to stay engaged for the final 3 games, but guys like Hicks, Stephenson, Brant deserve our support.

I have had season tickets for the past few years, I have no plans to waste my $$ on them for next year. This team is awful and shows no signs of life-they have never had the mindset that they can be a great team. I have always felt that our team's mentality approaching crucial games and tough games has been that we will fail/something will go wrong.

Thanks for bringing us back to decent status Dan, good luck at your next gig.

The North sucks throughout. Mizzou looked bad today. The qb is the owhole team. Nebraska looked bad and was outscored at one point 41-7. Buffs can only beat us if they can score a touchdown. Kansas stinks like the Mangino is sweating. KSU is a weakling who drove off 15 players at start of season.
Put the North out of its misery and let it leave the Big 12. Nebraska has beaten teams with combined record of 18-39. Yuck for the North. Rename it the Mediocrity League.

BRUTAL SCHEDULE, just what has been brutal about it??? I mean we played one "good" team out of conference (and they lost to Indiana), and we played the "good" teams in the South.

But Texas is not anywhere near what they were last year, Oklahoma is a marginal top 20 team even with AP, TT is bad, and K State is rebuilding with a new coach.

The schedule has not been that bad. It has played out a lot easier than it looked in the pre season. WE JUST SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (33)

And after 12 years THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (16)
