On edit: He ranked 24th nationally, 3 in the region--good not spectacular. Three recruit as was Purdy, though in retrospect Purdy outplayed his rank.

My 10 year old went to the ISU football camp and Dekkers was his coach. Loved him and had an awesome time. Had no idea who he was. Just was talking to me about his coach Hunter and how he was fun. Then I told him he would probably be the starting QB and he literally couldn't believe it. Made me chuckle.

I believe that. I saw him this summer at a youth camp. He looked like he had lost weight. He looked fit though. He was dropping dimes from the 50 yard line into a small net.
