Hp Touchpad Firesale

Just had my office buy one from our Staples corp account. I put it in our cart 2 days ago at the 300+ price and went into it this morning and it changed to 99. Wonder if it will show.

I'm stupid, I'm the one who sends out the link and then I don't buy one. Now I want one.....

No one has them available as of 9am this morning; all sites have been sold out last night or early this morning...

There will likely be additional drops on sites this week, especially HP that says they will have more in stock. However, there is already a waiting list on HP's site and that will likely be very long... I'll try and post something here if I ever see them go down online somewhere!

Thanks for the update, very much appreciated!

credit card was charged and it still says shipping soon. currently on hold with onsale checking my order.

I have a feeling by the end of the week onsale's approval rating is going to fall below 50%

I couldn't believe all of the reviews the TouchPad was getting from people who had just bought them, hadn't received them yet, just got the order to go through and they were giving out 5-stars! Must have thought it was a review to the seller like on ebay! :twitcy:

Why is that? My orders are still shipping soon, but haven't seen anything to lead me to believe they won't be shipped.

someone posted on slickdeals that on the phone, the onsale rep said their actual inventory (in the 100's) was substantially lower than the number ordered through amazon; they were getting ready to send out mass cancellations

of course, the poster could have been completely full of it as well

You can't even get through to B&N Customer Service due to their high call volume the explicitly say is due to the HP TouchPad... If my order through them gets cancelled I will be very angry, as there is no reason they should have went over their inventory..

MY BN order was cancelled and I suspect my onSale (amazon) order will be as well. Best bet might be to wait until HP's online store has more in stock later in the week.

It is now being rumored that anyone who purchased through OnSale (Amazon) that ordered before 4pm should have no problem. Those after 4pm are currently expected to be on back-order and are not guaranteed...

I really hate all of this crap that goes on with big sales like this, is it really that hard to keep true inventory and not over sell? I understand a few or even a few dozen in these cases, but mass 100s or 1000s?

Well shoot, if I end up getting a cancellation email from Barnes and Nobles, is anyone who bought extras at the store willing to part with one for a resonable price?

I am reading, maybe incorrectly, that HP is working with the retailers so that they make good on their commitment. So the BN and Onsale groups should be able to honor their sales with the help of HP. I am hearing they may give some pre sale buyers part of their money back (after Jun 16 or so).
