Hooray for Ames

excellent point sir. I bow to your intellectual genius.

I think it's obvious you are a glass half full kind of guy. I respect that. I used to be like that... and then I opened this thread and everything changed. That video changed me. I'm not even a glass half empty kind of guy now... it's much worse then that. I'm a glass smashed into hundreds of pieces on the ground kind of guy. That video has ruined my life.

I'm confused why a jimlad was added to this truthful post.

There's no such thing as bad publicity.

There are many people out there that didn't know Ames, IA even existed until the last couple of days. Now they think Ames is the worst place on earth thanks to that video. I wouldn't call that good publicity.

I don't want to admit the truth. I'm probably just going to drive up to Ames after work and drown myself in a tub full of delicious Ames tap water. It won awards you know...

I got a call last night from a buddy who had just taken a job in Ames. His family was so excited to live somewhere that offered a great quality of life at a low cost. But then I showed him the video, and now he's already scheduled a moving truck to take his things to Detroit.

I imagine he's just one of countless thousands who are fleeing the embarrassing cesspool that Ames has become due to this video...

You only get one chance to make a first impression...

I would hope a music video isn't a big factor in where people decide to live. As for this video it seems like they were trying to be light-hearted (and maybe campy) with it, not everything has to be serious and cool. However, I do think the video is a bit over the top and they could have done a better job of highlighting some of the achievements of both ISU and Ames.

Finally found some good news about this video. On Youtube, it now says:

The Cover Crop Anthem is probably their best work
