Hoiberg Press Conference

Hoiberg left because of all you people who worshipped him. Coaching was not a challenge for him in ames because he only had to have decent years and everyone would have a crush on him. He did not need to win a championship or go the final four to appease the fans but in Chicago nothing short of a championship will appease the fans and he likes the challenge. That is why he said he did not want to go to another college except he may consider one the blue bloods he just didnt tell the sheeple that. The truth is he hates coaching in ames because expectations ate too low. So congradulations isu fans; you have no one to blame but yourself for hoiberg leaving.

Wow...I could write something about how just how dumb this is...but I think I'll let the debate monitor from Billy Madison say it for me...

What was that I just read????

The vast majority of people who follow bball can't remember or name 5 NBA coaches. But they can name 5 college coaches. The NBA goes thru coaches like I go thru cans of skoal. It's a players league. If Blatt wins the title this year nobody is going to care it's all going to be about Lebron. Hell Blatt will prob get fired after this year..what does that tell u. Hoiberg wins the NC at Isu and I can assure you the national attn would be 10x the amount.

I never took you seriously before but now I DEFINITELY don't.

Hoiberg mentioned during the press conference that 2 years ago he entertained an interview with another college team. First I've heard of this..anyone know who this was with?

I still think it's a bizarre concept.

As alarson asked yesterday ... has anyone bolted to another team and returned to his previous post for a p.c.?

I realize Hoiberg has unique ties to Iowa State/Ames in general, and it probably was a goodwill appearance for him on a personal level ... seems like this could only happen at Iowa State.

Minnesota Gophers. He made it sound like he just wanted a better contract and was never actually going anywhere.

Let me preface this comment by stating I'm not telling people how to feel, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I understand both sides. Hell, I started off pretty upset and finally coming around.

Whatever your feelings are, even the must stubborn fan will eventually realize they're putting more energy into hate and contempt for Fred leaving than forgetting about it and moving on. Life is too short to personalize disappointments, people come and go in life, and we have to find solace knowing we were the best damn fan base providing best support possible. Nothing could have changed his mind to turn down the Bulls.

Makes me think that Fred going to the Bulls is a LOT more about money than anything else.

I wonder what cheapskate JP put on the table for Fred? Would 4 million per year have been enough?

I think Fred probably felt, and rightfully so, that he should be the 2nd highest paid coach in the Big 12.

Anyone else notice fred calling Burton an absolute horse? He's from a perspective as unique as Mckay. Was the cool thing about Fred. Taking unique people and blending them in and making them great. Really looking forward to this coming year and Burton. He, and the others are going to be one hell of a team. If this is it, make it great.
