Hogue's hair

It is not that I hate it, but I have coached kids for years and every time the ones that get mohawks and shave their heads they end up laying an egg have having terrible games.

Dustin Hogue can do whatever the hell he wants with his hair as far as I'm concerned. Personally, I would have carved "Beast Mode" into it.

I don't care one way or the other; the kid can do what he wants with his hair. It just seems that when a kid does something like this that they just as often as not have a bad game and look silly. I hope this falls into the "not" category because I think Dustin deserves to pound his chest a little bit rather than look silly.

Don't be scurred.

To get that shaved in your head takes...confidence. I am glad he has...confidence.

Maybe I am a little more superstitious than I would like to admit. But hey, it was Mrs. Velo, not me who immediately said Creighton was going to bow out real early as soon as she saw this:

I do think it is to a basketball player's advantage to have your opponent be concerned that you are slightly crazy. This haircut may put such fear into UCONN players...

The kick Dustin made on the WV player, afterwards he said something like that is just the way I am. Anyone who had watched Dustin all year knew this was true. I am sure that Dustin was in the same fury when he had his hair cut, and it will carry over to the game tomorrow and to the rest of Dustin's career. This is not self promotion, it is self expression.

Ha! I thought of that kick also and while I was writing about it, you posted it.

I think Doug McDermott has a way to go to convince me that he'll ever be another Larry Bird.
