Hoax v. Shucks ...

Iowa fan:

I’ve always felt hiring KF was a HUGE mistake, the contract extension ever more so.
Iowa football is COMPLETELY ******* BROKEN NOW. KF created this mess, and he should be shoved out the airlock. Its going to take whomever the next Hayden Fry is out there to fix it – its that bad.
I am done following Iowa football with KF as coach. The fastest way to get rid of him – don’t flock like lemmings into Kinnick, or to the ****** bowl games. Don’t buy merchandise. When the Foundation calls, tell them you are not donating a damn penny until KF is gone. Once it becomes more expensive to keep him than fire him, KF will be gone.

Does this sound familiar?

UNI and...well...UNI.

And when they played UNI, UNI was awful. UNI was 3-4 to start the season and were playing some really bad football. They have since turned it around and are playing good now.

Iowa hasn't beaten anyone that is any good at all. They make fun of us losing to KU, but KU would
make a bowl if they were in the west division of the B1G.

I hear your point, but a season of losing (especially with LONG stretches between wins and or large beatdowns can wear on a team.) Apathy sets in and that definitely has happened to ISU.

I still believe that we don't get to that point if we played in the Big 10. There would be a lot more winnable games on the schedule. We would have less games where we feel we just don't belong on the field with the opposition (OU, Baylor, and probably TCU next week.)

I'm not saying ISU would win the Big 10/make a BCS bowl/or have a better record than 7-9 win year that Iowa or Neb will end up having, but you can't ignore the huge gulf in class between Big 12 teams and Big 10. Yes, Iowa would probably beat us at this point given what has transpired. My point is that our level of apathy would not have transpired in the first place if we don't get beatdown like we did this year in the Big 12.

This year's ISU team would be a a 6-6 bowl team with most Big 10 schedules IMO. At the very least we wouldn't lose to our most overmatched opponent by 45 or more points like we seem to do against an OU or Baylor team fairly consistently. That mentally messes with players and anyone who has played on a team that lost that badly can confirm that.

We got smoked by Kansas, why don't you think one of the better B1G teams wouldn't be able to do that to us as well. Kansas sucks. No doubt in my mind that Wisconsis and probabaly Minnesota would have laid the wood to us as well. I still don't see any way ISU would win more than 4 games, even if we were in the Big 10 and 3 of those would probably be our OOC opponents.

lol, they turned it around because they started playing other FCS teams.

I am one of the biggest Iowa haters alive, but not one of us wouldnt take 7-5. ISU fans on Twitter are just poking at Iowa fans for their loss today. I dont get it, we give 10 year contracts for 7 wins, they want to fire their coach for 7 wins. As much as Iowa fans make me want to throw up, they at least have expectations.

They do have expectations, no question about that.

I think we all have expectations for the teams we support, it's just a matter of whether your expectations are reasonable or not. I expected ISU to win 4 games this season, and they're not even going to get to that number.

I can't blame Iowa fans for having high expectations going into this season, their schedule was obscenely easy. But those who were expecting to go 10-0 to start the season are the delusional fans that we mock and make fun of here. The fans who expected to drop at least a couple of games before finally playing a ranked team in the 11th game are the reasonable fans, because they know Iowa's coaching staff rarely plays to win, but rather plays to keep the games close by not kicking their opponent while they are down. The NW game was definitely an exception to that. Either way, the idea that Iowa was just going to steamroll their opponents in the first 10 games was ridiculous.

Dolphin called the Nebbie QB Frazier at least 5 times in the OT. He is really losing it. Maybe Gill and Rozier will get in the game next year.
I don't think he's losing it. Remember, the Iowa fan base has been living in the 90s since, well, the 90s.

Hooray expectations! Sorry but in this modern era of CFB and the money that goes with it the average fan is less powerful than they've ever been. Having expectations or not having expectations are the same thing because no one that matters cares. The coach doesn't care, the players don't care, the AD's don't care.
