Hilton magic is dead

So much win in this thread...

I avoided this thread the first time around because I knew it would be filled with this kind of garbage.

We had a tough string of games. This team has some great seniors, but we didn't have a real inside presence. Some "fans" would have you believe that it was time to give up and focus on next year. What does a good coach do? Figure out what works, beat KU at home, and put his team in a positions for a second place finish in the Big 12 and hopefully two good tournament runs.

At the time I made the thread we were 13-8, we lost the last 2 of 3 at Hilton. Since this thread we've won 7 of 8. It's been a great turn a around

My bad for making a thread after a 15 point home loss

So basically you were saying that Hilton Magic at 13-8 ISU record was in the same condition as, well, say, the end of the McDermott era?

Think twice before you post. I think we ought to put a sticky note on this thread and keep it at the top of the forum list for a few months just as a reminder so you learn your lesson.

Well, we do now. It just took a lot of the season for anyone to figure out just what we had in Solomon Young.

Didn't help that Sol got hurt early and played like a freshman for a while as well. Prohm again proved he is smarter than any of the fans on a message board. Imagine that. He knows what he's doing.

Same things happened under Fred. The team, like most teams, took a while to gel and for everyone to find their role. Once they did, everything seemed to fall into place.

This years team is no different. Prohm went with Bowie and Holden early because they are the seniors who should give you the best minutes. But the team wasn't gelling with those lineups. Prohm also made adjustments with how he used DJax, preferring to use him more off the ball rather than have him just be the primary PG when Morris was sitting.

Right now everyone knows their roles on the team and we are rolling.

While he is not the brightest poster by any means this wasn't the most outrageous thing. Saying it was dead was to far, but to deny that it was under serious threat to go dormant at that point would be just flat out wrong. The timeout usage and the poor offensive execution along with the poor results were very tough early on this season. It has turned around, but that is the key it turned around.

I don't think I've ever had someone go back and dislike a post I made over a month ago. That's... kind of sad actually.

Guys, this happened last year too. I like to think that our fans our smart enough to let things play out, after all the ups and downs we have been through in the last handful of years, but I know that is a fantasy.

The overractors are what make ISUs fanbase, the CycloneNation we know and love. Sure, I can't stand it, but it does show that people care so much about this team that they are passionate enough to express their opinions on the message board. Obviously the things that come from it is usually the same things being said over and over. But in the end, if they win the games, people all have the same goal and want for these Cyclones.

I am not going to crucify a person for calling it as they see it, but maybe just maybe set the phone down or walk away from the computer, come back 15 minutes later and see if you still think it is a big enough deal to post it.

That is my internet etiquette 101 for the day. Carry on.

Actually, I disagree - this year's team actually plays a little bit of defense, so it is a little different. ;)

Aside from CyJack kind of a who's who for negative posters.

Yep. And I probably could have included a lot more posts.

When I came back to thread today, my bookmark was still on page 2. That was probably the point where I had to quit reading the first time around. I was probably scared that my eyes were going to start bleeding.

So starting from where I left off, I quoted the dumbest posts, but only for the next page or so. I'm sure there's plenty more gems buried in this stupid thread.
