per 40 minute stats are dumb. He'll be fine, he's a ball of energy when he's on the court, and he got screwed with that charge call to force him to the bench. We'll need him to play 20+ consistently going forward to get him ready for the Conference gauntlet. And I think he can get there.
I agree. I initially thought he would stay to improve his jumper, but it's already as good as anyone else on the team. He does, however, need to work on his handle to the point I was wondering if his hand size may be contributing to this. (I have no idea what his hand size is, BTW.) Additionally, he needs experience playing the point. He does make some nice passes already and Prohm seems to be giving him the reigns a bit more when Barb is resting.
It always dies out quick though after a timeout. They probably showed the smile cam or your dive home weather.
Agree with everything, but he is ultimately the one taking himself off the court. Most of his fouls are easily avoided.
We need him on the floor for 20+ minutes in B12 play and hope he can get there too.
p.s. Stats are used to provide support and context. Dumb is arguing something that you cannot support with evidence.
I thought it sounded great on TV. It wasn't loud the whole time, but it was crazy enough that my in-laws, who weren't even watching the TV with me, looked over and asked if there were already big playoff or tournament games on. There were definitely times where Fran had to speak up to be heard over the crowd.

Right... but hes also a guy with 6 career games under his belt. The fact that he's this good playing on raw ability is impressive.
The gambling and out of position will be coached away. See Solo last year and his adventures defending screen roll.
Completely agree. Every time we'd start a "mini" run (in the first half), they would come down and hit a three. Which cut the lead in half, or tied the game. Kept the crowd in check.
I'll agree with what others have said... Iowa did a great job of stopping big runs last night. I think the biggest reasons were 1) Crowd silencing answer shots and 2) As many faults as I find with Fran's coaching philosophies, the mixing up of defensive looks definitely through us out of rhythm. Crowd seemed loud as always after the back to back DJack & Wigginton threes though on TV.
Sure, but the "Per 40 minute" statistic is one of the worst "stat" there is, IMO. It isn't a true representation of a players play, it's more an inflation than anything.
Great point. It's genuine and who he is.
But I think this could also be a great recruiting angle from many points. Cass is so well behaved and shows Prohm as the family man he is. A great environment to send your son to.
Cass and Monte...admiring Georges on the cell. Can you raise kids any better than this?

I thought Iowa played above average because of the enthusiasm of the crowd. All teams want to play when the crowd is into the game. Carver is like playing a pick-up game at the Y.
