Just for fun hot seat list from sizzling to silly.

Herman - seat has to be blazing hot in Austin presently
Wells - worst of the four hires that year ...
Miles - or was it Les?
Patterson - the slumping icon keeps beating Texas
Gundy - his conservative mouth need monitoring
Riley - not Bob Stoops
Aranda - too new to know
Brown - solid hire who will produce solid results
Klieman - just re-up'd for six
CMC - as long as he wants

Klieman has impressed me the most. I know he did amazing at NDSU, but man, he's impressed me at K-State thus far.

Off topic- any news on Big XII ship? They announce any date or if they're allowing fans?

Seems about right. I'd be surprised to see anyone choose to make a move this year barring something inexplicable (like Herman losing out) or scandalous (Herman...).

The Big 12 Conference announces the postponement of the Saturday, October 17, Oklahoma State at Baylor football game. Upon the recommendation of medical advisors, Baylor is suspending football operations temporarily after multiple positive COVID-19 test results. The game has been rescheduled for Saturday, December 12. The Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship remains tentatively scheduled for December 12 or 19 pending game results needed to determine the championship game participants. Big 12 Conference

I wonder what's going to happen this year with bowl incentives considering they just voted for having every single team make a bowl game this year..

I would never say CMC gets as long as he wants - as soon as you say that you might as well throw up a death flag. Not to mention we've said similar things about McCarney and Rhoads in the past. That being said, I will absolutely agree CMC probably currently sits on the safest seat of all Big 12 coaches.

Couldn't find a coaching related comment for Gundy?

6/11 years with double digit wins, hasn't had less than 7 wins since his first year as head coach in 2005.. meaning he's made 14 straight bowl games.

His seat is not even close to being cold.

I think we're close enough to the GoR that we do whatever we can to keep him to that point. We're also close enough to the GoR that even if the bottom drops out in the next couple seasons it'll be hard to decide to switch horses until after the GoR.

That said...I love the guy, am super optimistic about the program, and hope he retires here. (one man's opinion)

I'm not talking about GoR, as in, our ability to keep him; I'm talking about performance (or lack thereof) on the field. Note I'm not saying CMC has done anything to cause me to doubt that he won't be successful at ISU into the future - he hasn't. That being said, despite his accomplishments to this point, he also hasn't accomplished nearly enough at this point where if he has several losing seasons in a row that he's immune from his seat getting hot on him.

Only coaches on the hot seat are Herman, he has to get to the conference championship game, Wells, huge disappointment and maybe Gundy, been at OSU a long time, and has not won the championship that they want. Everyone else is safe, even Miles, the AD is one of his best friends.
