Guy from Tulsa, and his Ocoor
Boise St coach, doubt it
 
If Chizik leaves, I would knock down the door of Glenn Mason. He won at KU and won at Minnesota. He knows what to do with programs like ISU.

Turner Gill is too hot of a candidate -- he's going to have tons of opportunities this year or next year, hard to see him putting ISU at the top of the list.

McCarney is not likely to want to come back, especially if Pollard is here.

It's pretty likely that Chizik will be back? Do you think he is interviewing for head coach, or saying he is available for DC? Why on earth would a school like Auburn hire a guy like Chizik for head coach? Nothing against Gene, but Auburn isn't in that position. If Gene had a great first two years, that would be one thing.....
 
Some of the names being thrown out.......starting to sound like hawkeyenation in here. Chris Peterson wouldn't come here. Turner Gill has better prospects on the horizen. Gary Patterson has a better team and better prospects.

Let's get real. I think tarheelhawk or djk or southernhawk would be good. They seem to know a lot about our program and what is wrong with it.

That's true. And they bring one other benefit: there is absolutely no chance that anyone is going to come along and hire them away.

The only reason I said Turner Gill is because we have two things to offer him that he wants that he currently doesn't have:

1. Coaching in the Big 12. I've gotta believe that would be somewhat of a dream for him.

2. Money.

Getting him would be a long shot but not impossible IMO.
 
No McCarney. Been there done that. Besides, he's a better position coach than a head coach. He's interviewed for several HC jobs and no offers.

I think we do need to find someone who is an experienced HC and has been through some tougher places to win. I think ISU FB is too tough of a job for someone to learn on the job.

This whole situation is highly despressing, disappointing and maddening.

I don't see it as a long shot at all. You have strike while the iron is hot. If Buffalo stinks next year, he may have lost his opportunity. Going from Buffalo to the Big 12 would be hard for him to pass up.
 
This thread is hilarious. What are you all gonna do tomorrow when Chizik is still our coach. Why would he want to stay now?

He obviously doesn't want to stay, so what do our comments matter? I'm not knocking the guy---I get a chance to take better care of my family I'm doing it too.
