I feel playing Iowa isn't worth ISU's time....I think they should only continue the series if its played at Hilton...maybe 
You remind me of some other Iowa fans I know who have never heard of ISU redshirts Clyburn and Lucious.
Not saviors by any means but really good basketball players.
You can put your trust in the Josh Oglesbys and Adam Woodburys of the world like the rest of your brethren. Then we'll laugh when they get run off the court next December, and Iowa fans won't be able to comprehend how their team could lose to ISU again
I'd bet I've seen much more of Lucious than you, and I also laugh when I hear he's going to make this huge impact next year for ISU. It's bubu's clone, you'll see. Booker has more of a chance to be a good player.
That's not particularly relevant to whether or not Lucious is being overrated by ISU fans. I'm not really sure what to expect out of Lucious next year. He wasn't really anything special at MSU, just a solid player to back up Kalin Lucas. I think Clyburn will have a pretty big impact, though. Not Royce-level impact, but he offers a different dimension that Royce didn't: the offense doesn't have to run through him.
As for Iowa, I'm honestly expecting another NIT bid, and would be pleasantly surprised at an NCAA berth. You can see the pieces coming together, but it's not quite there yet, IMO. Relying on a pair of true freshmen at the point will make it tough to go Dancing. I think Gesell and Clemmons will both end up being very good players for Iowa, but they're going to go through growing pains at the worst position on the floor for that to happen. Marble I think is going to be scary good by the time he's done, but until he carries over the three-point shooting efficiency he displayed over his last six games, I'm not expecting that out of him next year.
Roy is going to take after his father, leading the hoks to some dubious honor and then fading off the face of the earth, but not before he goes Cromartie and has 10 kids with 7 women in 3 states and Puerto Rico
actually a good post. Very surprised with Marble jr's upside and Aaron White.
Marble jr is fearless and has a very even-keeled temperment on the court.

Believe it or not, most of my posts are similarly level-headed. You just happen to get under my skin a lot.
Gatens is going to be a big loss, but if Marble can carry over his improved 3-point shooting, I think he and Oglesby can make up for that. Marble shot 59% from behind the arc in his last 6 games. Granted, the 7-8 skews that. But even without the Oregon game, he shot 43% in the other five games without ever going nuts in one game and cold the next. So that's a positive sign. He's got a smooth stroke, just needs some fine-tuning and he needs to take those shots with confidence (which he was doing the last 2 1/2 weeks). If he can shoot anything over 35% next year (thereby forcing defenders to respect him from the outside instead of just sitting on the drive), he can have a lot of success as a pure scorer. Oglesby I think will end up as a better pure shooter than Gatens, but I don't expect that to really show next year. I'm expecting 35-40% next year, with more volume (I believe he shot 37% this year).
I remember hearing all the same garbage out of you Hok fans about Royce White before this year started. I'll trust Freddy's opinion (and Royce's) over a guy who hasn't seen KL play in a year. How did DG look before he played one year in CFH's system?

Royce was a little different, as he'd never played a minute of college basketball before this year. We saw plenty of Lucious when he was at MSU. He's a solid player, but not really much better than Allen.
I never said Lucious sucks. But he's not some elite point guard that will lead the team to the promised land. He's a solid player.
And if you're going to suggest that Hoiberg will be such a drastic improvement for a Tom Izzo-coached player's game as he was for a Chewie-coached player, I don't really know what to tell you.
Do you think Lucious is even better than Allen, period? I'm not counting on it, myself. He might be more valuable to us as a point guard now that we don't have Royce, but I always thought Allen was the better player.
You're right, Royce hadn't played a single minute and all we had to go on was CFH's analysis. It turned out to be dead on.
For whatever reason KL didn't work out in Izzo's system, that doesn't mean CFH is a better coach if he preforms better here. Whatever happened at MSU was enough for KL to have to leave the program, you don't think that had an effect on his game there? By all accounts KL is happier in Ames and has been a model citizen during his time here. He also will be 2 years older and will be in a starting role instead of a backup role, which aren't negligible differences. We don't need KL to be an elite PG, whatever that means, we just need him to be a solid player.
The guy was a top 100, 4 star recruit to one of the best (if not the best) programs in the B1G (also offered by Florida and KU) and we have Hoks on here saying he's the same as Bubu, a walk-on to what was a cellar-dwelling program? No disrespect to Bubu, but that's just ridiculous. Luckily, like when all the Hoks belittled CA and RW at the beginning of this year, we'll be able to settle it on the court.

ISU MBB team will surprise alot of people next year. I expect them to be picked pre-season for 6th-7th in the conference, but end up 3rd-4th again and 20+ wins and NCAA tourney
