I would assume they are women's coaches - but I have no idea from when. I don't follow women's sports. I guess I'm the typical "fan".
At what point did you realize Iowa had a new men's bb coach, and his name? Most Iowa fans didn't realize it until last December

You CHOOSE to listen to Dolph/Podolak/Zabel/Miller. It's not like those guys are the anchors on KCCI, KCRG, etc. You can just as easily not listen to them. Yet you choose to. Are you a masochist?
Listen sporatically, and for the record--the KCRG guys are as bad or worse.
I watch the local news hoping for a rare ISU feature, but are normally disappointed when the TV guys here shovel the hyperbole Hawkeye crap on people.
I remember a top-5 team KU coming to Ames for an early Sat. am game @ Ames last month, yet KCRG Friday night was all inane Hawkeye sh#t during their sports coverage.no mention of the ISU game. total morons

Angie Lee is a former Iowa basketball player who played for C. Vivian Stringer, and was brought on as an assistant before taking over after Stringer left for Rutgers. She resigned in 2000. The reason I know this is because I've read Stringer's a****iography three or four times (excellent read, very inspiring).
Beglin is the former field hockey coach who really created the excellent tradition the program has. She retired in '94. I had to look that one up. After all, I was four years old when she retired.

Iowa basically purchased a college team out east---Iowa high schools never had field hockey. Iowa gave into the demands of DR Grant--- an open check book, unlimited funds to blow on recruiting. wha la! Instant Field Hockey program. She played it as a girl in her homeland of (Scotland?).

Stringer doesn't make any mention of malpractice in her book. So I'm inclined to not buy that from you (you're every bit as biased as you see the media to be).
You have heard of Title IX, correct? That's a big reason we started a field hockey team, as well as a good chunk of our women's programs.
Other than the above, I can't really address what you're saying. You're talking about news from women's sports, that went down when I was 4 years old. Pardon me for not knowing much about it.
What a shock, a Cedar Rapids/Iowa City news station focuses much more on Iowa than ISU? I suppose Iowa fans who attend ISU have a legit beef for the Daily not covering Iowa?
You are missing nothing, zero, zilch, nada -- they are hopeful which is understandable but have no chance at even the NIT for gawd's sake.
No chance at the NIT? That's crap. If Iowa manages to take 3 of 4 to end the year (and 4 of 4 isn't crazy, considering how Illinois is playing and we get Wisconsin and Northwestern at home), then the NIT is a serious possibility. That's within reach. The NCAA Tournament likely isn't (barring a miracle).
ISU should get at (the very) least equal coverage in the DSM market. I don't disagree with that at all. That would suck for me, as Corydon is in the DSM market (although for 8 months of the year I'm in Iowa City). But I can read up on the Gazette from anywhere online. The majority of ISU's fanbase lives within the DSM market, while a very big chunk of Iowa's fanbase is in eastern Iowa. It's reasonable to expect a fairly heavy load of coverage for the regional team.
NIT a weak maybe. NCAA probably not. Depends what they do the rest of the year. They are a Jeckle and Hyde team.

That's a point I don't agree with. Both teams should get equal coverage. That's what always bugged me about growing up in Eastern Iowa that ISU didn't. Do they really think their are less grads in that part of the state?
I'd be pretty confident in saying there are more Iowa fans/grads in eastern Iowa than ISU fans/grads, and vice versa in the DSM market.
Maybe more fans, but not more grads. Both schools put out roughly the same number of of people.
