Hawk Media

Just remember, he's pandering to an insecure fan base. Pump up their achievements, downplay the achievements of others...
This type of legacy media is changing in Iowa but isn't dead yet.

Exactly. Much like the CR Gazette.

Really miss when Craig Cooper was writing for the Quad City Times - he was one of the few journalists in eastern Iowa that was actually biased towards ISU (also went to school with his son, but that's neither here nor there).
The school had to be somewhere.

I wish hok trolls weren’t an en masse, all the time, every time, every day, all day, 24/7/365 thing on this site. Maybe this week would be a little more special around here. But nope, we get the same “smarter than you and here to prove it” hok doosh that we always get.

I'm guessing they thin out quite a bit after Sat. Campbell and Co. just need to "Prove It".

He is just writing what a LARGE majority of Iowa fans believe to be true, that is why I cannot stand to listen to them. They think its beneath them to even play ISU, let alone actually get beat by them.
We are the pig pen, and somehow Iowa City is the Mecca in the center of the football and university world. They love ANF, but hate farmers, that says it all about IOWA, the Fake ID of college football. They play in the worst division in the P5, and then crow when they go 8-4.
I hope we crush them Saturday.

Glad to see the QC Times/Don is still a garbage newspaper/reporter. Just a bitter little troll.

Pollard and ISU have been working very hard to get Game Day to Ames for the last decade. It is a big deal for the university. They are coming to Ames for the game atmosphere. The fact that it is Iowa coming has no bearing on why they came other than it will be a full house and it should be a good game.

If ISU continues to improve Game Day could very well be back for the Oklahoma game next year.

I don't even see what could be in that article that would make ISU fans mad. Am I missing something? Seems he just doesn't care for the show College Gameday and said it will have no impact on what really matters on Saturday. What's wrong with that?

Why didn’t he write that article two weeks ago? 10 years ago? Why right this week?

I don't think it was a terrible article, it's just a bad take. Like it or not, CGD is a big deal. And there's no need to crap all over it.

As in my earlier post, he was taking shots at Pollard. If Pollard is "geeked out" and "gushing", then this writer definitely comes off as bitter/dismissive that Iowa State has nice things now. Pollard is just promoting his school as best as possible, and this guy is just cranking out content.

I'm curious if there is anything to the idea that the Iowa Journalism school turns out people who end up working for newsprint and Greenlee turns out people who end up in digital media or some other form of journalism. Some look into that because I am too lazy to.
