Has Haluska Lost His Spot?

Everyone seems to forget that Haluska does a pretty good job getting the ball inside. Thats really important when we've got guys like Jiri, Brackins, Clark and Wesley all posting up at times.

I haven't really noticed Lee getting it inside that much, but he hasn't had a lot of opportunities.

No because he's not Adam. I know some people might not like him because of his brother which is a stupid thing. I'm not an Adam Haluska fan after how he left ISU the way he did but Sean picked ISU and in fact he did it as a walk-on. I know he has a scholarship now because of people that left but I can't hold what his brother did against him. He's a Cyclone, he chose to be one so I'll cheer for him just I do everyone else on the team.

1+

Waiting for Lucca and Wes and others to arrive...they will need to be productive next year when Jiri chex out. In the meantime let SH make a three to break the slump.

Haluska shouldn't play in the big 12 unless were up 30...Lee is a way better athlete and will need all the athletes we have when it comes to playing defense on Kansas and Texas...

Haluska works hard at defense, but he is just not quick/athletic enough. He is always behind whoever he is guarding. And that causes him to pick up a lot of fouls (At one point in the year he was leading the team in fouls). He is a good defender, but not great. And Mac said that at the beginning of the year when no one but Rahshon and Haluska were playing defense. The rest of the team was HORRIBLE! But since then Jiri, Craig, and even Wes have stepped their defense up.

Thank God we have Eikmeier coming in to correct this problem!

Wes makes allot of plays with his length. He gets allot of weak-side blocks and gets his hands in the passing lanes. As he has gotten healthy, he seems to be quicker at these types of things. He struggles on the ball still, but the effort is there.

Wes picks up a lot of fouls because he's not quick enough to guard college SGs. Basically, he's a 3 playing the 2 because GMac wants to get our best five on the floor. As soon as Rashon graduates, Wes will be starting at SF.

I think the reason he hasn't been quick enough is because he has been hurt. I think if he was a 100% and back in shape he would be just fine.

He got burned a lot on the perimeter last year. Its not just his injury. He will improve in that area as he gets used to guarding the perimeter, but it is a weak spot.

The position Wes plays on offense has nothing to do with who he guards on defense. Rahshon guards whoever their best perimeter offensive player is, BP guards the smallest perimeter player, and Wes guards whoever is left.

Agreed. Wes is just not as quick/fast as people expect him to be. And I love Wes like a brother, but can we please stop blaming EVERYTHING on his injury?

Cameron Lee is the bestest basketball player in the whole wide world!

For real though, the more time he gets in game situations the better he's going to get. Unlike what has been said about other players, Cameron seems to thrive in a big game setting. He's like a goldfish, he'll eat as much as you feed him (just don't feed him till he explodes, please).

Wow, how things change for Sean Haluska. People had these misguided ideas that he was our star of the future coming in, despite having little basis for doing so. Now he's quite possibly the worst player ever ever.

The truth lies somewhere in between. I was one of the hardest on Sean before the year, but I'm confident he's not as bad as he's played. It just seems like he rushes his shot a bit. I keep playing him to try and work him out of his funk.
