Harbaugh & Norvell Interviewed in Dallas

Just saw a teaser on WOI-5 about this too. Supposed to be covering it on their 6 p.m. news. (I suspect the other Des Moines stations will have info too)

By the way, I hope I'm not the only Fanatic NOT excited about the Norvell interview...:no6xn:

I can't stomach the thought of Norvell at ISU. Former Iowa and Nebraska guy. Who are our two biggest rivals? Bingo!

It's been rumored that Norvell made the list as a minority candidate and is probably the lowest on the list for the job. Some of this had to do with timing to get interviews done at same time.

It is likely that Kragthorpe was also interviewed in Dallas today, but that probably just can't be confirmed by RAG.

Maybe Norvell is the token "minority" candidate?
That comment is below the standards of Iowa State. Coach Norvell would not be interviewed by Jamie Pollard if he was not very well qualified and capable. Is he the best candidate - leave that to the AD to decide. But don't diminish Norvell's accomplishments as a coach just because he is a black American.

Now, his Iowa and Nebraska links are certainly fair game.....

I agree Rapple, but if he isn't hired, and from everything we have heard he won't be, it does kind of seem like tokenism. I'm not sure that minority candidate rule did much besides give African-American coaches something to really complain about.

Norvell is offensive corrdinator by title only as Callahan calls the plays during the game. Norvell is in the booth as Callahan's eyes in the sky.

With the fact that Norvell doesn't call the plays at Nebraska, as a Husker fan, I honestly don't care one way or the other if Norvell would to leave.

From the article it sounded like the sources were from the candidates' sides, not from the ISU side. This makes me wonder if these were the only two interviews or if there may have been others interviewed we haven't yet heard about.
