Halibut in Alaska (correction)

When I was there, the Points (Evergreen, Hunts & Yarrow) and Medina were "neighborhoods". Technically, they were incorporated cities, but for the post office, our address was Bellevue. The house my parents bought in 1960 for 15K is now estimated at somewhere around 2.5M. The second house, bought in 1969 for 30K, is now estimated at 3.8M. Both now have Medina addresses instead of Bellevue. Fun fact: Bezos & Gates both live in Medina...it's a much more ritzy area than when we were there. One of the many reasons I will never live in that area again!
My grandfather's neighbor was Lloyd Cooney the TV anchor. They were great people. Always let us swim in their pool when we were out there. A reserve for the Sonics lived just down the street in the 80's too. It was always an upper-class area from what I remember but nothing like it is now.

I agree...the Cooneys were great people. I was in a tour choir with Kim & Kevin (Lloyd's sons) and they used to have us all over for choir pool parties. Lenny Wilkins (former Sonics player & coach) still lives in Medina as far as I know.
The homes with water frontage were the "rich folks" back in my day...us peons lived a block or two away from the lake. ;)

I remember Lloyd crashing an ultra-light or something when I was real young. I think he and Betty both were BYU grads. He was good friends with Malcom Forbes if I remember right. I think they used to ride motorcycles across the country together. Small world. My grandfather lived in the house directly next to theirs (East I think) up the hill. They lived at 9014 and my grandfather 9024 NE 37th PL.
