Grilling and drinking

Mowed this morning. Grilled lunch for my family. Trimmed the fenceline. Spot sprayed some weeds. Took a nap in the shade. Just got in from a 6 mile run and my wife and kids are out snapping greenbeans and husking sweetcorn and there are some burgers out to grill. Oh, and there was a bud light lime waiting for me as a recovery drink??? I'll go ahead and call this one early...it was a good day.

Light up one of these...

And pour a lowball of this...

...and that day is as close to perfect as it gets.

Irish Coffee with steak & eggs for breakfast. 8 oz. strip. Drank rum around noon, failed to cook the lunch chicken. Kiddos got grilled cheese, but they hardly ate, for they had steak and eggs for breakfast. Burgers and brats for dinner. Have switched to beer and kaya.

Boulevard 80 acre in hand, squash onions peppers in foil on the grill with beef tenderloins on deck. Not sure which bottle of red it will be with the meal. TR and coke will be desert.

Just grilled a sirloin with a blue cheese and bacon baked potato and drinking a couple tasty IPAs

Mulched this morning, mowed some of the yard, then went to Hickory Grove and Kayaked with wife and friends for over three hours. Came back to our place grilled, drank summer shandy ate outside and then sparked up the fire pit for awhile, now well talking to you all.

Hmmm painted bedroom with wife.. Biked 35 miles. Tried Exile Brewery and Confluence Brewery while on ride. Ooh and grilled burgers for lunch.

So made wife happy... Biked... Drank beer.. And still grilled.. Not too bad

Have had a brisket on my Oklahoma joes smoker since 12:30 this morning. Plum wood is the fuel of choice. Used a family recipe for the rub, and another family recipe for bbq sauce. Cooking for 13 hours at 200 degrees.

If you weren't a hawk , I wouldn't mind an invite to that BBQ.

The one I did yesterday is resting in foil in a cooler, pulled it off at 5 this morning. The smell is driving me nuts, can't wait til 5.

Some day those times will come back....Kids do change the frequency of such great events.

Not sure how old your kids are, but I got a 2.5 year old and a 7 month old...I took them to see some lambs yesterday, went to an easter egg hunt today, Grilled yesterday, drank last night and tonight.

Older kids with little league tournaments? There's this thing that is usually given out as a groomsmen gift...called a flask...be the guy drinking at a little league tournament, man....if we all start doing it, it's then socially acceptable.

Yeah, just had a baby, looks like my grilling and drinking are over for about 18 years.
