I grew up in Ames and just spent the weekend there, visiting family. I attended ISU for a year, before transferring to BYU.

While in Ames, we stopped by Reiman Gardens and had a nice view of Jack Trice Stadium. Back here in Utah, I can see the BYU "Y" on the mountain off in the distance. Anyway, thought it was a good time to join this forum since BYU and ISU will now be conference mates. Let me know if you have any questions about BYU vs Provo.

P.S. -- I'm glad to see both teams won over the weekend and are coincidently ranked right next to each other.

Welcome. Drove through Provo a few years ago. Can’t wait to make it for an away game. What does one do for fun there? Obviously our perception is that you all go home after the game and read your bibles.

Give us the low down on drinking/tailgating in Provo.
The bars are mostly off Center Street. Alcohol besides beer has to be purchased at state liquor stores.

If you are coming for a game and want more variety in that regard, stay in Salt Lake County. You’ll still be 30-40 minutes away (without traffic).

BYU campus is dry, so definitely not in the stadium. You probably would be ok in the parking lots.

Is it "dry" or dry.

What’s the deal with what you guys call a message board? I’ve tried a couple times to jump in there and that thing is pretty messed up to say the least.

So if we want to bar hop/have some fun at night you wouldn't recommend staying in Provo?
I'm OK with few options, just want to know of I can be having beers/cocktails at 1am near Campus.

College campus and Dry does not compute.

I assume you are talking about Cougarboard. It's an awful site run by puritanically ridiculous moderators. I refuse to visit it and go to Reddit instead.

No, stay in Salt Lake. There is much more variety there.

Lots of outdoor stuff. I had a good time at BYU. Having said that, it is very tame compared to almost any public University. Having said that, I'm not a practicing Mormon any more and wish it was a little more lively.

Honestly, great season for BYU so far congrats on that. Unofficial PAC 12 south champs.

I drove through all three Utah campuses recently, I've always thought BYU should be in Big 12 every time we go through these shakeups. Seems like a no brainer to add the biggest fan base in fastest growing state.
