Greatest professor you had while in school

I forget her name but it was Biology 212 in 04'. Its the day of the final and we(the class) get there at 8 am to take it. Soon after the test is set to begin she realizes she left the final in her office. Subsequently she gave everyone A's..... That was a good day.

Barb Kumhart. My wife and I were in there too. We already had the A's secured but it was nice not to take the final  IIRC the secretary had printed the previous exam instead of her final.

Now that you mention that I think you are correct.

Best- Dirk Deam easily. Probably the most interesting/smartest man I have ever met.
Easiest- Hollinger in Philosophy
Worst- Cunnally in Art History/Classics

Yeah, I had Hollinger last spring in his last semester before he retired. His class was great. My favorite prof though, that was probably the guy who teaches the Microbiology labs. Best lab ever.

Brian Behnken is quickly becoming one of my favorites. He's the instructor for my U.S. History 1945-Present course this semester.

First day of class last week, he's going over the syllabus and the basic rules that you go over in every class. He talks about plagiarizing and risks being kicked out of school for it:

"Don't ruin it for yourself. You got into Iowa State University, which wasn't hard...(pause)...but it wasn't easy either."

Then talking about using laptops in class:

"Use laptops for class notes only. If I see 7 guys around you trying to get a look at your laptop, I know you're watching porn."

EDIT: 2,000th post. I always wanted to mention porn in my 2,000th post.

Not good with names, but I had a couple, interestingly none within my major.

I took History 421 (i think) - History of Warfare. Guy taught the class as a hobby, and he was good at it.

Sociology 310...prof was HOT!

-Poli Sci 215 I think? Schmidt, was his name I believe. (I can't really remember because it was 5 or so years ago.)
-Kinesiology and Health professor, Dr. King.

my best professor was one that I had during freshman year that had us go to their house for a learning community project and allowed us to empty his liquor cabinet. probably the single greatest thing i ever did for a class. ive heard that they also brought 40s to class and drank them during class. for obvious reasons i probably shouldnt release their name

Dr George Knaphus, Botany. Not so much for the class I took, but the influence he had on my life as my advisor.

HIST 421--Was it Kehrberg? If so, that guy's really good.

If both spouses could find a full-time job., that would be a lucky school.

First Time Post

David Griffith was a my physiology professor in grad school in 1972-73.

No one even close in his ability to connect and hold the attention of a classroom.
