Great job Nader

Nader made some incredibly difficult finishes. To get to the next level we need that Nader and BDJ. Makes us such a better team. Just need Thomas to give us 5-10 minutes of mistake free ball.

One significant factor in winning all three tournament games was the opportunities the team gave themselves by getting so many steals and having less than half the number of turnovers as the other three teams.

Steals ISU 8 Texas 2 --------T/O ISU 5 Texas 13 MM had 5 thefts
Steals ISU 12 Okla 3 --------T/O ISU 8 Okla- 14 Geo and BDJ each had 3 steals
Steals ISU 7 Kans- 2 ---------T/O ISU 6 Kans- 13

ISU won the steals race 27-7 and less T/0 ISU 19 the other 3 teams 40

Could it be we have another secret weapon?

One thing that was down was our assists which is very surprising because we had less in all three games than our opponent.

Seems like BDJ and Nader are starting to hit their stride, perfect timing. Naz and Thomas struggled but hopefully they can find their stroke for the tourney.

Naz struggled with his threes, but had two crucial drives to the hoop. My favorite was where he got the ball / rebound in the lane, dribbled his guy out and around a screen, and his guy thought he was going to jack up a 3. Naz just turned around and took the open route for the bucket. Beautiful.

I am the first to admit i was hard on him. He brought it tonight.

Same here. He played really well Saturday night however. Played a little more team ball and was a bit more selective in choosing his moments. Typically I feel he's a bit of a black hole in getting the ball - he's going to shoot. Didn't do that as much in the championship and it served him well.

I'm glad both he and BDJ have stayed engaged. They are hugely important to this team. We will need both of them to play well during the tourney if we want to make a deep run.

Couldn't ask for a better guy to come off the bench with his versatility. Where's dognuts at saying how horrible he was all preseason?

I love Nader's size and skill set all year. Kid seems to be figuring it out at the right time. Not many people can keep him out of the lane when he is motivated to get there.
