Why is everybody so certain Gottleib will fail miserably?
Did anyone actually hate Dave Bliss while he was coaching Baylor? I remember being largely indifferent right up until the whole lying to cops about players murdering each other thing, but that was in the offseason.
Because hiring a head coach with no coaching experience of any kind only works 1 in a 100 times (if that often). Fred also had a lot more playing experience and exposure to high level coaches to learn from.
Please verify your numbers by providing the 99 specific examples of times it didn't work for the one time it did;-)

I don't think everyone thinks he will fail miserably, it'd just be funny cause he's such a douche and it'd be fun to have a coach in the league to really hate. I could see him doing decent but not propel them to the top of the conference.
But we have Huggie's F-Bombs and Self's foot stamps to make fun of...what would Gottleib provide for us to hate on? I'd be more than happy to settle on another 2-3 wins per year...
I believe Jeff Goodman tweeted something along the lines of "Gottlieb came in second last year before OSU hired Underwood." This may not be as far fetched as some believe.

Its too bad Underwood and Evans won't be around next year, their program was finally going to have some offseason buzz for the first time in years.
