Golf in Ames.

We played a lot of Terrace Hill in Altoona last year. Fridays was $15 to walk 18 and it is an easy walk.
My thoughts as an outsider:
Veenker-Doesn't seem like a place I want to play 3 times a week. It's fun once in awhile but it's just to penal to do anything other than play stressful golf. It was a course that was built to be as quirky and as hard as possible given it's short length.
Coldwater-Where I'd prefer just to play golf. You could take it seriously in a match with the guys or you can take your wife out, have a beer and relax. Kind of gives you every option there. No idea what the membership or clubhouse is like. Also a really easy walk. That'd be an awesome 7 am Sunday 18 walking course.
AmesCC- It's an alright course. You'd probably find more comradery and club feel here if you're looking for that.
