I don't own anything gold, I just don't like it. I am a gray and red guy. That being said I have no issue with a gold out.

There’s almost zero gold ISU merch, especially stuff that looks good. If there was more of it, it would be easier
Agreed, we don’t have nearly as many gold options as Iowa fans. I think their gold looks better though.

I’m kind of tempted to get this shirt but also says Kittle

Cyclone Fanatic Shop has some great gold merch. The script Cyclones gold T shirt is perhaps my favorite piece of Cyclone merch.

Thanks. I had seen brief pregame video and it looked like shirts instead of towels - makes more sense.

So even so it looked like a lot in lower bowl had on white - some non-white here & there but thought it looked good overall.
It was shirts and it was everyone except us poor people in the upper corners.

The gold the athletic department decided to go with is ugly when used in pretty much any amount besides accents on a cardinal jersey or shirt. I notice in any graphic the mbb twitter posts they seem to add a tint to the pictures to darken everything and make the yellow more appealing to the eye holes.

I understand the original gold swatch from 1920 or whatever is pretty yellow but we need to ditch that and use actual darker gold color not mustardpiss yellow.

Although maybe the players like it, we seem to use the yellow jerseys a lot this year, they are worst ones in my opinion though.

So, towels for everyone else except poor people? Because there was definitely something in the other seats:

Are you putting this out there based off of actually being there or a social media post. If you attended the game you could tell that those were white pom poms in the non-student section seats.

To be fair anyone watching on ESPN will only see a "black out" in the 200's because there's no lights.

I was there and I did not notice the pom-poms (which my section did not get) and I definitely under-estimated how well the lower level did with wearing white on their own.

The key to making it look good is providing a shirt for every seat. Otherwise it almost always looks half assed.

Said same for the White out a couple weeks ago. Gold is a little better, more people have it.

Estimate for tomorrow:
20% won't know its Gold Rules and wear the wrong color
30% will know its Gold Rules, but wear the wrong color because they are obstinate and churlish
25% will know its Gold Rules and wear canary yellow
25% will know its Gold Rules and wear mustard yellow

I will be in canary. GF will be in mustard.

I’m in the 30% lol. I already paid $90 for the ticket. I don’t want to also go out and buy a $30 gold shirt at the bookstore that I will only wear once.

I am in the 200 level so it doesn’t really matter

I would prefer gold out. As other's have mentioned, white out makes no sense.

Having a gold out would be unique for Big12. I think Baylor is the only other Big12 program that has gold/yellow as a secondary color. I like cardinal out, but a number of other Big12 schools have cardinal/red as their primary color.

I thought the white out for the Longhorn game was a bit off as UT's colors are Orange&White.

You and GF should customize your shirts. Have regular I-State logo on front, then on back in the nameplate area, one of you is "Obstinate" and the other "Churlish" :D ;)

Same with me but I have season tickets and a gold shirt, I'm just churlish.

Also same.
