There's no way in hell you can pin this on DG. Horrible mistakes by Ejim were the not so clutch plays of the night.

Losing Dendy or Ham hurt us this year to make a short bench. We need another big player in crunch time in Big 12. So, would you rather have the extra body this year or next year? The extra body will be next year.

I was this guy last year. Anybody who watches any b ball knows that we suck without DG. He has been great all year.
DG has definitely had his moments, but I don't put any of this game on him. He played a strong one from start to finish. CFH had him running that stupid ******* high pick while JVB was on the bench and OSU just started collapsing on DG every time. Should've abandoned that and got back to what was working. JVB was on the bench at a very inopertune time and when he came back in he cooled off (air-balled a 3).
I have no explanation for the complete failure to break the press. It seemed pretty obvious that they had no idea what to do there. I suppose you can't be expected to teach them everything in 1/2 a season, so I'll cut the coach some slack here. There will definitely be a LOT of teachable moments when it's time to look at the film...

Amen. I was never going to take issue with this team but tonight I have to. Like you said rebounding killed us. You take away all the easy putbacks as well as two rebounds when OSU was shooting free throws and we win this easily. Also the point in the game I look to is the 2 threes Jaime passed up which ended up with turnovers both times without a shot attempt. If Jaime is open I want him shooting EVERY time. I can't remember being this ticked off. :realmad:
This team is DG. How can anyone bash the guy. He is playing his guts out and keeping us in games. We're short handed and under experienced. Sure it sucks that we've lost a couple close ones at the end of the game. But let's not go bashing our guys. That's what Hawkeyes do.

First step on free throw HAS to be up and out to deny an O rebound on a free throw whether it's a long bounce or not. Many times I saw the guys stepping towards the basket which is a BIG no no.
It's a ******* miracle anytime this team is IN a game. Three scholarship players back from last year. THREE!
Phil Jackson would not have lost the game for sure. Lack of coaching experience? Maybe.
Id have to agree but ask yourself this: How many times did Mac put us in this opportunity? Besides wasn't this year just supposed to be a learning year for Freddy? How dare we be competitive! Who do we think we are.
