I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm cheering for Baylor today. Here's why:

1) Our best bet is having no one injured come NCAA tournament time. Our best bet at getting injured? West Virginia.

2) I think we're a 6 seed looking at a jump to a 5 seed. AND I DO NOT WANT A FIVE SEED!!! I want to avoid that 5-12 matchup, and playing an essential home game against a top 4 team. I'd rather be in a 6-11, play a beatable 3 seed, and see where our luck goes from there.

Thoughts?

We could get upset as a 5 and as a 6. Just as any 5 or 6 could get upset.

I'd rather be the 3 seed in the tournament. But the 4 is OK as well. Beating Oklahoma State 3 times will be tough. But plenty of people thought we couldn't beat them twice.

I don't see why Baylor winning would directly move us from the 6 line. Conference placement doesn't play largely into seeding if at all.

Big 12 tournament seeds.

For those of us going, Baylor losing would be huge. It would get us in the night game on the other side of the bracket from KU, much cheaper ticket and easier first round game. The last thing we want is to lose out in the first game on Thursday.

I'm rooting for Texas to beat Baylor. For the following reasons:
1. Beating Kansas State is slightly easier than beating Oklahoma State...particularly because beating a team 3 times in a season is hard to do
2. Same reasoning with West Virginia. They would have to beat us 3 times in a season...and that's hard to do.
3. If we are able to get to the final, we're pretty much playing with house money. We'll have already shot up to the highest NCAA seeding we were ever hoping to get this year anyway by making the finals. So maybe Kansas stumbles and we'd face Baylor in the finals again with the Hilton South crowd.

I'd rather play KU then WVU again. We play way better against Kansas. We also haven't lost to OSU since Niang was a freshman....

You and other Cyclone fans that find ways to panic and cry about being a 5 seed need to sack up and quit the whining.

We would have to beat KSt for a third time as well. Plus KSt will be desperate for a win, trying to get into the tournament. Think Texas from a few years ago.

That's not what the OP is talking about though. 4th is the lowest we can go in conference and there is no 5-12 or 6-11 game in the Big 12 tournament, which is what he mentions above

All the above reasons are worthy as to why which team you want to win for our KC possibilities. But it isn't going to matter, because NO WAY is Texas going to beat Baylor today. Have they even had a win since we went in there and had a hangover??

no, six straight losses, four by double digits
