Go Ball State!!! Beat NU!

Nebraska should have lost...period. They got lucky. The Big 12 North is exceptionally weak this year.

Nebraska state feels like it is a loss, and at a loss to explain after a four year project their team has progressed no further than 2004 despite their recruiting prowess. Their offense and defensive schemes continue to be too complicated for their players who see coaches 20 hours a week. Young guys cannot play much because they are still trying to understand the playbook. Purify only played half the time also. Marlon Luck caught 11 passes and is more effective ctching than running. The Solich fans booed quite a bit yesterday. Bottom line it was the weakest win in 38 years at Lincoln yesterday. The better team lost. The fieldgoal kicker pulled the kick left although it had plenty of distance. Their coaching staff, like ours, toodled the ball down the field too slowly, trying to win with a fieldgoal and they could not pull it off. Goes to show that last minute offensive drives are usually mismanaged. Just ask Iowa.

I was driving back from Omaha yesterday, and ran across the call-in reaction show after the Ball State game. (Somehow, the grueling drive through western Iowa was made much easier knowing the Huskers only won by one point!) I was surprised to hear how many Husker fans called in to admit that maybe Nebraska simply doesn't belong back in the elite programs of the nation, that the times are changing.

The best call, though, had to have been a guy that was in hysterics from crying, wailing about how Ball State kept catching the balls and scoring on the defense, how his son was crying because the Huskers were losing, blah blah, until the show's host had to cut him off. That got a pretty good laugh out of my girlfriend, who up to that point, was hating the fact that I was listening to sports talk radio. I had to explain to her the joys of listening to Nebraska fans who are ready to jump off a cliff. :)

I kinda think this is better than them losing (for us anyways) - completely tested/exposed yet they don't lose - so their not pissed for next week's game.

Its kind of funny, because I see some of the same people who complain that we have a horrible TV package in the Big 12 hoping and praying that NU would of lost this game, which makes absolutely no sense. If we want our TV package to be better, you should not be pulling for these types of upsets. I'm personally a fan of the Big 12 conference. Why I might not enjoy a lot of the fans in this conference, I still feel it is much better if teams in the Big 12 win all their non-conference games.

If you'd actually read what I wrote, I stated it was better they didn't lose the football game...for our sake.

I actually did read what you wrote, and I was not attacking what you said, just making a general statement for the whole thread. I quoted what you said as a response to your statement, trying to build off what you said, which I agreed with.
