Glass deck railing

The company we're looking at includes the glass but I think it's 1/4" and our deck builder included labor for rail install in bid.

I just like the more robust look of the 3/8". It's like the 4x4 posts for some decks. They meet code and all but look to skinny whereas, IMHO, a 6x6 or 8x8 would have looked more in proportion.

It's not a magnifying glass. The sun will heat the deck the same directly as through glass. That said, lack of air movement could be an issue.

That’s what I thought until our windows started melting cushions on our outdoor furniture and torching our grass. I have absolutely no idea how a reflection does that but through trial and error, I’m 100% sure that’s what caused it. It’s wild stuff.

Glass is a PITA. No air. Dirty all the time.

I don't know. If your deck is glass, it can't be hard wood.
