Personally, for recruiting sake, you need to give him an extension. Have it performance based, but how can he realistically recruit a kid if the kid doesn't know whether the coach will even be there when he gets there. The recruit needs to know that the coach has a contract to work for the school while the recruit is there.
Dude, he has 3 years left on his current deal. if he was in the last year of his deal, I could see it impacting recruiting, but not with 3 years left.
