Gill out at KU?

Yet another reason why JP should never listen to the vocal yet moronic contingent of Cyclone Nation - there was an extreme push to have him hired here at ISU, and a lot of them were outright ****** when we went with Rhoads instead.
 
Nothing being said on Phog.net right now. I mean, other than all the posts calling for him to be fired....just nothing about him actually being fired, not even rumors at this point.

I think its a given that he'll get canned, they're just seeing how long the AD will wait to turn out the lights.

I'm not sure I really wanted him to be our coach, but I was a bit put off when he came out and said that he didn't want to even interview with us. Then I was REALLY put off when he interviewed and took the KU job only a year later.

I remember praying ISU didn't hire Gill. He had one fluke year where Buffalo wasn't even that good. They had a hail mary pass to win a game. If that pass falls incomplete, they finish 5-7 or 6-6 and don't go to a bowl. He had proven nothing. The next year Buffalo sucks again and Kansas saves Gill from his eventual firing in 5 years from Buffalo. It was a bad hire from the start. Thank God Jamie hired Rhoads.

Kansas City radio says there would be a few boosters that would come up with the money to get rid of Gill. These boosters supposedly have already let it be known.
 
I remember not being very high on Turner Gill but I was not against it either. The name I remembered being thrown around some was Pat Hill at Fresno State. He was the guy I wanted at the time but I wouldn't have been disappointed if we got Gill at the time. Obviously it is a blessing that we didn't and JP ended up making the perfect hire.

I remember thinking the same thing. No way I wanted Gill. I have to give Aubrun credit for not bowing to the PC crowd and hiring Gill.
