It really is. Seemed to happen once Eddie left, which was still before when the Thunder came to OKC.
I was there when it was small and it was nutso. 7k people making more noise than 15k arenas. The Thunder came to town. Little Sutton ran the program down and its been Carver Hawkeye south ever since. Just a morgue. I hate it. Used to be such a great enviroment down there. They need a coach with personality to come in and have something to sell.
I just got back to hotel from gm. We were in first row of second section ( only 6 rows in lowest section)directly across from ISU bench, and we were on top of the court...great seats in lower two levels as it is a VERY steep seating setup...the OSU season ticket holders confirmed same thing as others have said..... Fans don't like Ford, nor his long contract, and the Thunder has killed OSU and OU attendance ( it was maybe 60% full tonight, and the OU gm last week was maybe 70%)... Big 12 teams in general don't draw like they should based on how good the conference is....only ISU and Kansas sell out all gms, with WVU being maybe 3rd in attendance %, as they usually draw decent ( Kansas gm was oddly empty due to crazy bad weather)...Texas draws a good number but don't fill the biggest arena in big 12 at almost 17k capacity

Btw OU has never really had great attendance at basketball games. They sell a lot of tickets do to them doing a football basketball ticket cross promotion. So the basketball attendance number look way better than what they are.
I just don't buy the Thunder argument. Why are the fans so ****** at Ford. The guy wins and has had a top 25 team the last few years, what more do they want.
I understand the pull of the Thunder on their attendance. But for a Top 25 matchup at home? That's pretty weak. Oh well. Go Cyclones!
It's alright... the main complaint I have is that the way the tiers are done, it can be hard to see the benches or subs if you're sitting on the same side as them.
It is sad how empty that place was. Last year it was empty and they had Eddie Sutton Appreciation. But I think last year they had bad weather. This year though? More excuses on why it was not filled up.
I would not say we own the place, but getting to wins in a row down there? I do not think any ISU coach can say that since the mid-60's. Another sign of what CFH is doing for the program. This is something Tinsley/Fizer could not do!
