Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Review embargo is up, but it still doesn't seem like many critics have seen movie. For what have seen it, reviews look pretty good so far.

I know Ghostbusters 2 isn't better than the original, but I still like it way more.

That was on the other night...why did they have the new Ghostbusters sign on stuff in the movie? Like here.

It was like they were promoting the sequel of themselves, haha.

Definitely some truth to this statement. However, I personally really enjoyed Ghostbusters Afterlife and am super glad we are getting more.

Oh, me too. I was just being a wiseass. I'd be more upset if I hated Stranger Things- but I don't. As far as attempts to appeal to a younger generation go, you could do worse:

I thought it was fun expanding on the Shandor company; bringing the story out of New York. I was really impressed with the young actors and am very interested in where they take the story next. I think it has been mildly hinted by the Reitmans & Aykroyd that Vigo may return as the antagonist in the next instalment. I think we'll also see Janine Melnitz and Winston Zeddemore featured more prominently. Janine is an obvious suspect as the estranged mother, and has some explaining to do. Winston seems to be interested in resurrecting the ghostbusting business with the extra cash he has burning a hole in his pocket. Ray will probably also make an appearance as the occult historian/consultant. Hard to believe the Ecto Containment Unit is still functioning after all these years...

I really enjoyed it as well! I thought it walked the line of leaning on nostalgia for my age group and hooking a new younger audience very well. I was glad I saw it with my kids in a theater.
